Fun but will take some time coordinating controls
I got one! Lots of fun but it does take some time getting use to the reaction of the controls since you can't feel them on a touch screen. And, as the battery wears down, the reaction to the controls change a little.Package comes with extra missiles, blades and a "dogbone" that needs to be installed but isn't mentioned in the setup instructions. Its easy to figure out if you look at the blade shaft because one dogbone is already installed. The instructions are adequate. You'll also need 4 'AAA' batteries for the docking station. It takes 35 mins to charge the battery after it runs down, Fully charged you'll get about 10-12 mins of flying time. You can tell when the battery is dying 'cuz it'll start to auto-gyrate, or fly backwards, or won't lift off very high. The bird's battery is fully charged when the Red Light comes on the translucent USB connector. It was somewhat charged from the factory because the light came on pretty quickly the first time I tried the charger. The required free app, HELO TC, that you must download has two modes, Learn and Expert. It starts you out in Learn mode. You'll barely get the copter off the ground in that mode but its an excellent time to try out all the controls. After 10 or 20 "flights" the app will say "Expert Mode Unlocked." Now, you'll be able to go to Settings and set Expert mode on but watch out, this thing will be totally active! The TRIM feature works great. It'll keep the bird from drifting right or left.I've only tried to program one run without great success. One problem is, you are not in control once you start the program, you can't land the bird or do anything until the program runs its course. At least I haven't figured out how to terminate a programmed flight sequence in mid-program, yet.I recommend experimenting in Learn mode in a carpeted area and a room with a high ceiling or, where there is grass. But remember, if you are outdoors the slightest breeze will affect the bird so, indoors to learn if you can. If you are doing it in a room with a standard height ceiling, I'd try to keep the bird no higher than you are tall. Once it gets close to the ceiling, it seems to suck itself right up into it so keep it a couple of feet below AT ALL TIMES.Once in expert mode I'd not do this near cement. The bird takes a beating OK but the blades will get a little dinged up which will affect lift, so STAY ON GRASS!After at least 50 or more flights I still don't have the controls down pat where I can fly it AND fire missiles. The missiles work fine, but I'm still trying to perfect my usage of the controls. In fact, they are the weakest part of the setup. They aren't perfectly consistent or always reactive to your adjustments as quick as you'd want them to be.Also, if the bird is hovering level and you push stick to go forward, the bird will but it'll begin to lose altitude. That in turn, requires you to give it more throttle to keep level. But, as soon as you stop forward motion, it'll begin to rise 'cuz you gave it more throttle. Since the controls are the touch screen, you have nothing to "feel" to tell you how much throttle you are using or how much "stick" to give it. Like I've emphasized, coordinating the controls are the hardest part of flying this bird but its certainly doable. That's why I gave it 4-stars instead of 5.Good luck!PS. I'm over 65 years young!

A fun toy for my husband
Many of the guys at my husband's office had older versions of these and my hubby was a bit jealous and wanted one too... perfect birthday gift for him.The Cons-It takes a while to get it calibrated to get it to fly and be controllable. Once my husband tweaked with it for a while, it flys well inside, but not outside as it does not have the power to combat the slightest breeze. Don't expect a child to get this calibrated initially on their own.Battery life only runs for 5 to 10 minutes, but this is pretty typical. The Pros-For the price- my husband has had hours of enjoyment with it and now his brother is jealous. The missiles are fun to shoot at the boss and although not the most accurate, it doesn't do to bad either.Fun cat toy, my bengal chases this thing around the house and gets excited everytime he hears the motor turn on.More durable than you would guess. Although I wouldn't imagine this would last long with a child, it has stood up to many floor and wall crashes, let alone cat tackles. For the price and entertainment, this was a good buy even though the controls were tricky at first and I wouldn't suggest this for anyone younger than a teen... unless you like to throw away money and have a disappointed kid.

Look elsewhere
I purchased 4 of these helicopters. 2 worked great. The other 2 didn't. 1 wouldn't hold a charge and 1 wouldn't fly. The seller referred me to Griffin which promptly replace the 2 non-working copters. However the replacements just spin in circles and won't take off.

Good beginners' RC helicopter
Worth buying for someone who's interested in getting their first copter. Good construction that makes it fairly durable - it'll survive the repeated crashes of a novice user admirably. Once you move beyond the basics, though, the controls fall a little short. The iPad/iPhone compatibility is neat but the responsiveness is a little lacking. That's almost part of the appeal, though. If the limited maneuverability frustrates you, it's time to move on to a better model. If you're already bored, then you didn't break the bank finding out.

Fun and resistant
I bought it with a couple of friends from the office and we have had a lot of fun while taking breaks. Its hard to control at the beginning but it can resist a lot of crashes while learning. You need to change to the advance setting in order to lift from the floor otherwise it get kinda erratic cause of the air bouncing to the floor.

Over rated.
I ordered 4 at once for myself and several other family members. The order came in missing a helicopter and I had to call and get the vender to send another. They did however get one in the mail right away and I had it is a few days. I opened one of the first shipment and after charging the battery as instructed the helicopter would not fly. Not only not fly, never got off the floor (ground). once the thing flipped on its side and some gear gave up, came off the rotary, axle that spins the first set of blades. I did take it apart and try to repair and got the gear back on the little rotary shaft, axle. But the thing still does not fly. Just not enough lift. So I set the unopen ones (three) back to the vender. I did not want to have my family open these things with hopes of flying on Christmas morning. I was very disappointed. The advertisements are so cool. Lee.

Avoid At all Costs
I sincerely regret getting this product and also dealing with this seller. Here is why I gave it one star:1. Faulty product: I received a faulty product (heli couldn't go even 1/2 inch off the floor).2. Replacement product: was used (box unsealed) and tried to contact seller, email address was fake!!3. Remote control through iphone, ipad..etc is so fiddly and I would advise you to get Syma helicopter(s) which come with a proper RC; I got Syma S108G and God what a difference.. Design, control and sturdiness... Should've considered that to start with.4. P&P: I paid nearly £5 for delivery and now the seller expects me to pay the same amount to return it!! when it was their fault to provide me with a faulty heli and then a used one!!

Had to return...didnt work
It was a Christmas present for my husband, but, unfortunately, after a whole day trying to fly the helicopter didn't go even an inch up. Had to return and to order another helicopter. However, the amazon service was great. I chose the instant amazon voucher refund and they have managed to deliver us another helicopter for the New Year's eve. Appreciated it a lot!

Rubbish
I wouldn't award any stars or recommend these helicopters to anybody. We have had 2. The first was broken inside one set of rotors didn't spin and the second works but will not fly!!! Hardly gets airborne!!! Complete waste of money !!!!
