How many sway bars do i need for a 6500 pound travel trailer?

My travel trailer is 38' and weights 8000 lbs loaded. I tried using just 1. It still moved around a lot in the wind and when being passed. I added a 2nd sway bar after about 2000 miles of driving. The 2nd made a huge difference. Things finally settled down. The trailer is about 11' tall and 38' long, that's a lot of surface area to be affected by the wind.

Will the sway control ball adapters that screw onto the existing ball mount work with this? Or do I need to find a local welder to do my dirty work?

I assume you are talking about where it mounts on the hitch on your vehicle. If you have an equalizer hitch it normally has a tab with a hole where the small ball for the sway control should fit. If it does not have one then you will need to take the ball mount and the supplied tab that has the hole in it to be welded on. You may want to have a dealer that mounts hitches weld on the tab because they should know where it needs to be attached.

will this work on a jayco 184bh, the frame is 2 x 3 inches

if the frame is as thick as the attachment plate then I say it would work but if its to thin then I would give the company a call and get there advice good luck.

Do you need to use this with the Weight Distribution kit or can I use this by itself?

You do not have to use it with a weight distribution hitch.
