Even if it was slightly bigger, it should smoosh through. All the rope lite type stuff I've seen is soft and pliable. Check yours for squishiness. I'm no expert. Actually I haven't purchased or touched a tube lite or rope lite for at least 40 years. I say yes.... should fit nicely. **Q: Can you install these on aluminum pergola if you pre-drill the hole? If so, what drill size is recommended?** A: Yes, the pre-drilled hole is 3mm, if you want to be more reliable, it can be slightly smaller, such as 2.6-2.8mm.
