The Vicks company's online manual for this thermometer says it needs SR41 batteries, so when I bought the thermometer I also bought some SR41 batteries. Now I have discovered that the SR41 is absolutely the wrong battery--it's half the size of the battery the thermometer needs. The correct battery for this thermometer is the CR1225. It's now too late for me to return the batteries to recover what I paid for them. But shame on Vicks for its misleading manual, and for wasting my money.
