The timber material is OK. The product is sturdy enough, and there are no splinters.I'd originally bought this for a 3yo to stimulate him. It's ended up being something the whole family gets involved with, including older siblings (7 and 10). There are many puzzles in the book, aimed at different difficulties. It's a nice old-school toy for rainy days. Great way to get the kids away from the screen for a longer period of time.

Quality is good. The thinking that is involved with this puzzle is really good. it is challenging for all ages, but yet manageable as well so they accomplish the task provided with feeling satisfactory. My 3 year old loves puzzles and she loves trying to complete the patterns. if she is given the pattern by an adult she can complete it. But she can not start it herself. my 7 year old can do it fluently. My 5 year old struggles a bit. overall a great puzzle that makes you think and it can be made many different ways leading to hours of fun.
