These hasp and staple latches worked great on my chicken coop door and run door and also to hold the nesting box door shut. They're heavy duty, and are great for outdoor buildings. I bought the black powder coated ones, but discovered that any small chip to the finish will cause it to rust very quickly. Some black enamel paint took care of the exposed iron. The screws that are included are not rugged enough to be of use, so we used deck screws to affix the hasp and staples into place. A simple carabiner does great as a hook to hold everything shut. These look very stylish and vintage, just the aesthetic I was going for with my bougie chicken coop.

This made my diy treasure chest look professionally built. This hardware is really sold and worth every penny.

These were the perfect choice.

This is nice and sturdy. The quality was better then expected except for the screws. The screws were very poor quality. Two stripped way to easy as I was driving them in. They are completely stripped so if I ever have to remove the piece I’m going to have to try and brake them off or drill them out. If not for that I would have given 5 stars. If you buy I suggest to use your own screws.

Beautiful for pirate chest...but the hinged hasp is not offset to lay flat over the base of the staple. Either the staple must be sunk 3/16" into the base or the hasp must be shimmed up 3/16". I did a bit of both.

And before people jump down my throat, yes, a lot of local manufacturers are adept at the art of the con. These guys, however, make a brilliantly finished product, pack it really well - like a much more expensive item would be, include all the screws you need to fit it, add an instruction sheet (for dummies) and send it on time.
