Good for marking and knifing quite sharply. Nice I made some mediocre dovetails, that was my fault not the knife

This marking knife works great. I see two complaints: "it rolls off the bench", and "I wish it came with a leather pouch". I use a marking knife for almost everything. I have a leather pouch to hold a marking knife in my woodworking apron. This makes both stated issues are irrelevant to me. This is great for marking pins in narrower stock, say ½" thick. When the stock is thicker, say ¾" the blade is a bit short. But no problem, Narex markes a marking knife with a 1.5" blade. I bought it, and it works perfectly

In total, a good Tool. The blade is well sharpe and sturdy. What prevents me from go with five stars is the fact, that the tip of the blade (important for me) breaks very easily. I disliked this ... but again, for the money, in total a good tool

Bought this for laying out box & dovetails and a few other jobs. I use a lot of other Narex tools, specifically chisels and rasps in building all my longbows and have always been impressed by the quality of their tools so is was a an easy choice buying one of their marking knives instead of some other brand. Sharp, good size, comfortable when you're going to be using it often and the double bevel allows for easy use right handed or left. Its single edge allows for more accurate marking than a double edge/grind knife imho. I'd recommend and would buy again. It came on time, in good order, as described and well packed.

Narex is known for providing chisels that are very well made at an entry level price. This marking knife follows in the vain. It is sharp enough out of the box to use immediately and when it comes time to finally hone the edges, it sharpens quite easily. You'll also fine it holds it's edge pretty well considering what you're doing with through the course of a woodworking day .

I usually need to sharpen knives or chisels as soon as I get them, there never sharp enough. This was pretty good out of the box. However, it would be nice if they would include a sheath, paper amount the blade is not a sheath or safe

I have two Narex marking knives, one with flat sides and this one with a round barrel. Both have the same steel blade, and I like both, however the version with flat sides is absolutely my favorite, and this one is traditional woodworker looking, but uncomfortable to hold and prone to damage by rolling off the bench. This design rolls more easily than any other woodworking tool I own, and it likes to roll far when it rolls, typically off the bench. The metal blade and wide barrel near the blade means that it’s weight when falling drops it blade-down every time. That means the tip of the blade hits the concrete floor first and you get blade damage that’s hard to repair. I consider this a latent design defect. The barrel should have flats on at least two sides to keep it from rolling. I sanded flats on two sides of mine and stopped the problem, however from the position of comfort and usability, the Narex version of this knife with flat sides is superior (though less traditional looking) so I recommend that one in preference to this version.

I like it a lot. For years I’ve been using whatever box cutter is close at hand as a make-shift marking knife. Then I tried making my own marking knife by sharpening an old putty knife. But it didn’t work well either. This is much more precise and easier to hold than prior solutions and well made.

Quality bit of kit

La réception ne pose aucun problème, rien a dire sur l'emballage (cf. photo 1). Par contre, TRES GROS PROBLEME pour un "Couteau de marquage", à voire sur la photo 2, POINTE COMPLETEMENT ABIMEE !!! Donc pour la précision, on retourne avec un bon vieux crayon à bois. Pas du tout contant pour ce produit au prix affiché puisqu'inutilisable.

If you want tight joints and accurate cuts, abandon pencils and other ink markers. To cut wood accurately, down to the millimeter, you need a marking knife. Buying this has transformed my cuts, joints and general accuracy; I didn't realise how bad a pencil is until I bought this. I've had cause to put and edge back onto this having dropped it onto my concrete floor, but doing so was easy with a flat stone. This knife is razor sharp when new and sits comfortably in the hand; I'll never be without one again.
