I genuinely don't know why, and the instructions do say to do this, but you absolutely must use an extension cable for these to work. I was plugging straight in to my laptop and couldn't get them to work, used an extension cable and they immediately came to life. I can only assume the extension swaps the pin out over, but it makes no sense to me really. Beyond that, I've tried two so far and no problems.

The price is amasing and it has a built-in USB to power it from any USB power supply.The Voltage connection seems O.K. at std 5v out and between 6v-16v in.Only a 5 pins with 3 PWM but great for most simple applications.Before attempting to insert, take a look at YouTube for a HowTo video.It needs a driver install and the upload is a little strange but managable.To upload, remove the board from USB, click 'upload' which after a clean compile will state 'Attach' and gives you 60 second to plug in. After loading it returns to power only from the USB.Great product, so small and really cheap.If you are looking at building simple projects this is definately the one.Shame they don't provide a clip-on cover to turn it into a slightly oversized USB plug.If anyone knows of these let me know.

All three worked perfectly and had a pre-installed bootloader, so all you need is your Arduino IDE set up correctly, and you're good to go! I made a simple prank background changer with one, and it worked flawlessly.

I purchased a 125 of these for a specific project. They arrived promptly and all surprisingly worked which I wasn’t expecting.The big thing to note is none of them came with a bootloader or the blink program. So if you are trying to follow many of the tutorials out there and trying to program via arduino and usb, that wont work even if you install window drivers. You will need to load bootloader firmware via another device acting as an ISP.I used an arduino uno I have lying about. Loaded the latest micronucleus and after that usb worked great.The circuit board for these is slightly thicker than other clones I have used and it actually made the usb connector fit better.

They work as expected, not had any issues or failures with them yet. Seem like typical good AZ Quality.

A very teeny tiny Arduino-like board. Be careful. When it arrives, you may have a board on which the wrong firmware or no firmware at all is flashed. If this is the case, you may have to use some tutos on the internet (even on youtube, they are pretty clear) with a simple Arduino and a few wires. It is a little pain in the brass but when it is fixed, you're good to go.

I love this as a cheap, if I mess it up I throw it away device. Never too sure of the ultimate capacity but it saves tying up a more substantial controller. Big problem is that it;'s just an incy bit mean on the storage - it's always on the edge of small to medium project but indispensible!
