Airfree P2000 Filterless Air Purifier

My husband calls this "The Egg". I think it looks more like R2D2's baby. Heck, you can call it Al if you want, but the crazy thing works. I have invested a fortune in expensive air purifiers but still woke up every day with gunk in my throat as thick as paste. Nice image, huh? I saw this thing in a super expensive catalog and figured I could find it for a better price on Amazon and indeed I did. The concept made sense to me - cook the mold, spores, bacteria and other bad stuff right out of the air at 400 degrees (just like that pizza you cook - "love at 400 degrees"!) and shoot the sanitized air back out. Brilliant. This would effectively render my room at the "Bubble Boy" level. You know, the guy in that Seinfeld episode who lives in the bubble because he has to have that sterile environment (until he meets up with George and then that whole concept goes south quickly)? Well, darned if the little guy didn't do just that. My first night using it (I had to figure out that you gently tap that light icon a few times to turn off the night light feature) was uneventful as it was silent, but I touched it and it was pretty hot on the outside. Hmmmmm. I woke up in the morning and the paste in my throat was gone! And I am not even kidding here. I didn't have to clear my throat all day long like I normally do. Same thing happened the next day. And the next day. It kept happening. I am now the Bubble Girl, with clear sinus and throat features and I can't believe how many years I lived in misery and all it took was the child of R2D2 to change my life. Dear gentle reader, let it change yours too. I was not paid for this endorsement which is a shame because I think I earned it.

Airfree P2000 Filterless Air Purifier We have used this product for 6 weeks and it is no longer working . There is no warmth to the purifier and it is no longer filtering air. The led is on and the light at the top. We put in a support request from the manufacturer Airfree and are waiting for a response. We would like assistance fixing our model or replacing it. We will update the review when we hear from Airfree

GOOD - Reduces mold toxins - Quiet BAD - Not Grounded - Blue light can not be turned off INCONVENIENT - Packaging and instructions gave me a toxic reaction - No switch on unit

This unit, while relatively expensive, is quiet and efficient. I live in an older single-family home that was converted into 1 large apartment and 2 studios. The common gas furnace produces a great deal of dust year round. I also have 2 small long-haired dogs that shed (One much more that the other...) I've experienced a lot of respiratory issues from the dust, dry air and hair for the 7 years I've lived here. While this unit doesn't solve all of these problems it DOES lessen them. It stays on all the time, doesn't use a lot of power and is whisper quiet - so much so that I can leave it below my night stand next to my bed and never hear it running. It also doesn't require filter changes. I guess the only improvement I could ask for was if it could be designed to offer humidity features in the winter/dryer months.

First, I would like to tell everyone who is complaining about the light on the purifier that they should turn their air purifier over... there is a black on and off turn switch on the bottom that allows you to turn the light off if it bothers you! The only reason I haven't given this five stars is because I haven't been using it for an extended period of time yet, but so far I have not had any problems with bad smells or issues with the light (because you CAN TURN IT OFF!). The room smells so much better and the air is already cleaner after just a few days. I love that there are no replacement filters to pay for!

I have purchased several due to recent recommendation by a friend. They are all working quietly and beautifully. Highly recommend.

This was a great item,besides it quit working a week ago & it hasn't been a year yet,So it was a waste of money!! Would not recommend!!!!!

My 2 sisters live together, one is a smoker the other is not. The one that does not smoke purchased one of these when she tested positive at work for nicotine. This was going to increase her insurance co-pay. She had 6 months to test negative before the increase. She pluged her airfree in and 6 months later tested negative. the air free took the 2nd hand smoke out of the air and saved her money. I work with this sister. This was proof enough for me. That was when I got one too. The air free sits I the corner, looks like a night light, and is completely quiet, but I saw proof that is works.

I have asthma and I also live right beside the 401 where there is so much traffic at all times and my place has a lot of dust when I open my windows coughed a lot even when I took puffier not anymore since my boyfriend who is a senior bought it for my health which I am a senior too, as he bought it me for himself first then he was telling me how he sleeps better and longer because the air is so purified it’s easy instructions and is noiseless just plug it in and your ready to go ! You need to put it when you first get it in a well vented area for 5 days then after that you can place it anywhere you want but read where not to put it in the book ! Love that he bought this for me just love love love it and love him too for gifting me one , extremely happy lady !!

Needs to be used in a *small* 100% closed environment. Otherwise, nothing can happen. This is NOT an air purifier by any stretch of the imagination. There is a lot of marketing hype with "air purifiers" these days - so do your homework before you hand over your hard-earned cash.

No filter, plug it in and leave it alone
