Nice product and great speeds
Have these setup at several of our worksites and with a MESH setup. They work GREAT and have a great range. Love that these have an additional ethernet port. It allows me to plug equipment in that requires an ethernet cable without having to run additional cables.

great Wi-Fi 5 AP!
The AP15 access point works great. Although it tops out at 802.11ac / Wi-Fi 5, it still does a great job and supports VLAN tagging and Layer 7 Application Control.

Aruba is an HP Company - Potentially Better Service. Easy mobile app setup
The cloud feature is included with the purchase. Note that once installed, management of this product is cloud only.High ceiling/wall mount is recommended. Done, though this isn't easy, since you typically won't have ethernet up there. I mention this only because Aruba and the other manufacturers which offer this advice aren't helping this with the installation kits they provide. You're pretty much on your own, on the ladder, cables dangling over your shoulder.Firmware updates are handled well. This is often handled poorly, relying on consumers to monitor for updates and apply them manually. If you're not on PoE (802.1af Class 2), you'll have to order a 12V DC adapter. That said, the PoE's available from various sources such as switches (or single port injectors) might be not much more than the cost of the adapter - maybe shop around before shelling out for the adapter. We tested the AP15 with PoE from a 5 port desktop gigabit Netgear switch.Advertised performance: 1733 Mbps on 5 GHz (.11ac) | 300 Mbps on 2.4 GHz (.11n).Tip: If you're using this for IoT devices -- vs. powering laptops in the garden -- it's the 2.4GHz specification that matters. Most IoT devices aren't smart enough to do the crawl in the 5Ghz swim lane.Because it's HP, I am going to speculate that the cloud resource will be more durable and persistent than some of the alternatives where the cloud resource is a bit of an afterthought.Installation via the mobile app was polished, one of the strongest features of the unit. I noticed other reviewers felt otherwise; I'll just say that the bar is pretty low.Performance was typical for this price range.RE support, while I expect HP support to be somewhat better than others, they aren't, as of this writing, paying much attention to questions posted on Amazon.com.This is the power supply if you need one.PSUhttps://www.amazon.com/Aruba-Instant-Adapter-Included-R3X85A/dp/B083RT8MDL

How do you install?
After searching the scanning QR code (which leads you no where), going to website and numerous YouTube videos there are no helpful videos on a simple installation and how to connect to your existing router. Once when I plug it on via Ethernet it doesn't even power on. The videos on YouTube are extremely technical showing you nothing on how to physically install just all the computer technical aspects. Returning both. Extremely disappointed.

Building an Enterprise Network at Home
This is my first Aruba product. It was very easy to setup. Setup was very simple. You just need to connect the Ethernet (and a power adapter if you are not using power over ethernet switch). If you are not familiar with power over ethernet, some network switches have the ability to power access points over the unused pairs inside the Ethernet cable. As it is an access point only, I chose to setup an access point in the app. It walks you through the normal steps of naming your network (SSID) and giving it a password. The front of the access point has two lights. You can set it up when it is blinking orange and green. Once everything is setup and working, both lights will be green.I have not mounted it on the wall yet. Right now, I just have it sitting on a tablet stand. In my case, I will have Ethernet jacks installed high up on the walls during my home construction. If you are not interested in wall or ceiling mounts, you can get the Ap11 Desktop version and sit it on a desk.I have the switch this plugs into attached to a Zyxel firewall. I am getting 250+ Mbps on my phone connected to this access point. My internet connection is 400 MBps, so I am either being limited by the fact that this is an AC access point or the Zyxel is not capable of passing more traffic. I have ordered the AX AP22 for more speed (assuming the Zyxel isn't the bottleneck).Overall, I am pleased with it and have placed orders for the rest of the equipment I need to build an entire home network with it.
