My son has had dandruff since ever. He tried Salsamic Blue originally, but it stopped working after a year or so. This one, however, works wonders and is still working after three years. It is affordable, works like a charm (after two washes only), and the best part, it is a Head & Shoulders, so you know it smells nice and makes your hair look amazing, too. Great product that moisturizes your hair, while leaving it healthy and dandruff free.

I picked this up because my scalp was irritated and flaky from a lot of product buildup, and it worked fast. After just a couple washes my scalp felt way calmer and cleaner, and the dandruff started clearing up right away. My hair also feels really good after using it, clean, soft, and refreshed without feeling harsh. Overall it did exactly what I needed it to do and I’d definitely recommend it if you deal with scalp irritation or buildup. The bottle size is ideal because they fit well in my bathroom. Ingredients seem pretty solid.

My scalp was severely inflamed after a vacation that consisted of daily swimming in pools, the ocean and keeping my hair damp for hours. Despite using chlorine removal shampoo my scalp had enough. My scalp was on fire with itching that scratching never satisfied and I had developed a couple painful wet scabs. I tried to wash more frequently and treat with ACV, rosemary oil and regular H&S but it didn't provide lasting relief or heal the scabs. My scalp was pleading for something else. I came upon Clinical Strength H&S and purchased the shampoo and conditioner bundle. I was familiar with the smell of selenium sulfide as I had to use it when I was a kid in the Rx form once. Yes, if you have read other reviews the scent is more medicinal but it worked with 2 treatments with washings about 5 days apart. I lifted my scalp with a fine tooth comb and washed with the clinical shampoo and the conditioner. It did sting a little bit because I had scratched my scalp and the sores were open so you may want to wait a few hours or overnight if you choose to do this. 3 days after my first treatment, I had huge, dry flakes but there was no itch and my scabs were healing. I'm guessing the seborrheic dermatitis/malasseezia yeast that was on my scalp dried up. I lifted the scalp again and washed my hair and this time I had no itching, no dandruff flakes, no scabs!!! I'm about 5 days from my last wash and I'm flake free and itch free. My scalp feels renewed. Btw, as an African American woman with a 4b hair type, I cannot wash my hair daily. It would severely dry out my hair. So this is promising for anyone who needs to wait a few days between washes. This product continues to work throughout the week. My scalp is now calm and I can just use it as needed going forward. I am very pleased!!

Our dermatologist recommended this shampoo because I have dark spots on my body. He recommended it. It worked wonders for me. It has a strong scent, but when you shower, wash your hair, and body, leave it on for 5 minutes, rinse the shampoo out, and then follow with your daily soap. I highly recommend it. I love this product. We're very satisfied with its effect on our body and hair.

This shampoo does a good job reducing flakes and removing buildup — my scalp feels very clean and refreshed after using it. That said, I’ve found it works best for me as a once-a-week treatment rather than a daily shampoo. When I use it too frequently, my scalp becomes a bit irritated. During heavier dandruff phases it helps somewhat, but it’s not a complete solution on its own. Used in rotation with a gentler shampoo, it’s effective for maintenance and keeping flakes under control. It lathers well and a little goes a long way, so the bottle lasts quite a while. Overall, a solid option — just not ideal for everyday use on sensitive scalps. Good for this price. The bottle is well packed and does not leak.

Had my seborrheic dermatitis under control for many years, until I stopped using the old Head & Shoulders Clinical Strength formula and switched to the standard H&S. Was hesitant to try the new stuff, since I was really in love with the old formula -- aside from the scalp treatment, it just gave my hair the perfect amount of volume. Well, as it turns out, standard H&S is not enough for me, and I NEED the clinical strength formula. Scalp conditions started to improve within 2 weeks, and now (2 months) it's basically non-existent. Cannot recommend enough for seborrheic dermatitis. Smells very similar to the old formula, which isn't that great, but also not that bad. The smell mostly just fades into the background, and I'm fairly sensitive to fragrances. As far as how it leaves my hair (I don't usually use conditioner post-wash), it's also very similar to the old formula, so overall not too disappointed with H&S decision to reformulate its Clinical Strength line.

I used it couple times already and my flakes and itchiness improved.

I have tried a lot of different shampoos in so many years to get rid of dandruff. This is the only shampoo what worked. Worked in 1st wash. After third wash, there was no dandruff.
