Great Craftsman product with plenty of bits
Bought this because I needed to repair my weed trimmer and needed torx bits because I'm notoriously losing bits. Thankfully this 44 piece set, has 42 bits (+1 driver and 1 extension) so it was just what I needed. It even has little places to return the bits if you're really organized.I opened the pack and looked over what I needed and after some quick sizing experiments, I looked over my 39 bits and found the bit I needed. The self ratcheting system of the driver was mostly helpful. Obviously when there isn't much resistance the ratcheting ratcheting system doesn't work but that's common and it's not dependent on my 35 bits (and I tried). Thankfully, it's just a quick twist on the handle allows you to switch to a normal turning screwdriver method and that works no matter which of the 30 bits I used. The driver has a magnetic holder within both the body and the extension, so it makes for easy changing of my 22 bits back and forth with ease. Dang it, I had more, where did they go?The remaing17 bits are made of what appears to be good, high quality metal and should resist wear and tear pretty regularly. Craftsman has a fantastic 10-year warranty on their product and this one is no different, however I don't think it covers loss of any of my 13 bits. That's pretty phenomenal when you consider daily or regular use of a mechanical driving system could fail in 10 years. This one will see some regular usage from me, but for any typical flathead or Phillips head screw, I'm probably going to use a regular driver versus this mechanical one even if one of my precious remaining 8 bits fits the job.Speaking of fits, the grip is quite comfortable and while light-weight, it feels very durable, which is common with Craftsman products. The addition of any one of my 6 bits doesn't feel too heavy nor imbalanced. With all that in mind, I rank this 5/5 bits, which is all I have left.Wait, make that 3/5 bits, but 5/5 stars, would buy again.

So glad I ordered this
I lost my screwdriver. The one I've always had. Not fancy, but it was the only dependable one I own. Since I don't do a lot of DIY I don't own a lot of tools anymore.I needed to up a shower curtain rod so I looked on Amazon and after searching and find some that looked cheap and disposable, I found Craftsman. A name I knew, a name that has a guarantee, one that's been around forever with a fantastic reputation.Once I was sure that the company still offered the guarantee, I ordered with no hesitation. So glad I did. This is a neat little plastic box with two clips to hold it closed. Inside there's a spot to place the screwdriver handle so that it won't fall out when you open it. The bits seemed to be arranged strangely and not very well. Boy, was I wrong. When you want a bit just pull the tip toward you, at a 90 degree angle, and pull the bit straight out, easy peasy. It goes back in the same way, in reverse, so that it's held securely, lined up neatly. There are lots of different tips, which I'm not going to describe here since I'm not a tool person. Maybe someone can give examples of what type of project each tip is used for. I know the phillips head and the flat head. So far that's all I've used. The clockwise/anti-clockwise mechanism is easy to use. Turn the little ring to each side and it sets up. Want a screwdriver that doesn't ratchet? Leave it between the two and the ratcheting stopped. I'm looking forward to a lot of years of being equipped, better than ever, for DIY.

excellent upgrade to manual screwdriver
been looking for a complete set for ratcheting screwdriver, this compact case holds all the bits I need in 1 container, didnt realize till after that it connects to other craftsman versastack containers, that I have, bonus! now my tools are locked in a tower instead of scattered around my workbench

Edited-Good value for the whole family ish
My wife needed a screwdriver kit that was large enough not to get lost easily. I wanted something in the house so I don't have to get tools out of the truck. My kids want to have something easy for their parents to use to open battery compartments on toys. Everybody's happy. It has more space for a couple more of the bit holding strips so I can add a few more specialty bits... if I can find some strips. That would be a nice addition in future design changes. Not use all day professional quality, but homeowner strong.Edit- The magnet in the bottom of the open shaft which helps to hold bits and extensions in, has broken and made it's way out. There is no other retention mechanism, so everything slides out easily, making it much more difficult to use. Will attempt to repair.

Much better than what I was using before
When my family did remodeling I got stuck with building all the new shelves, and entertainment centers. I got tired of having to use multiple tools to get things done. I had originally bought a makita brand ratcheting screwdriver, but sometimes when I was screwing stuff the bit would come out of the screwdriver and stay with the screw. Then I bought the craftsman 6x speed screwdriver but was quickly disappointed to learn that all the "magnetic" bit didn't fit with it, so I became very limited to using the bits that screwdriver came with. But again was defeating the purpose of not wanting to use multiple tools to get things done. Did some googling and searching and found this screwdriver. Plus it was on sale which was even better; I just got it delivered, so of course I quickly went and grabbed my makita bits and tried them and they fit.
