The Best Shaver Available Today
This product is truly remarkable. How did this small Andis company get so many things right when the two major players, Braun and Norelco are missing the boat?Let me tell you what I mean and about the best features.DesignThe razor is packaged like an Apple device. Opening it provides the customer with a sense of confidence, as the product oozes confidence in its tightly integrated box.The design of the razor is sleek, beautiful, minimal and as a result is super easy to use. The razor has a soft touch area on it, is matte, and it has beautiful gold colored metal accents. It is the perfect size and it’s straight (non curved) design allows it to be packed in a Dopp kit easily. There is one button. It controls on and off. It is also used to lock the device to inadvertently keep it from turning on in a luggage. To lock it press and hold for 5 seconds until the light flashes. To unlock press and hold until it turns on (about 5 seconds). This also makes it an excellent travel razor. There are three LEDs that show charge level and status. Charging is done in about an hour I believe. I believe you get two hours of use but this razor will work in less than half of the time as it’s competitors (more on that below). There is one USB-C port (more on that below, as well). There is also a cover that magnetically attaches to the top to protect the foil.Under the magnetic cover is the foil. The cover (foil) removes easily but is secure at the same time. Cleaning is super easy with an included brush. Simply brush the foil off into the sink. The plastic used on this razor is thick and feels premium.UseAs mentioned it is simple to use. Press the button to start and the motor hums alive. Press again and it is off. The shaver shaved extremely close. In about 30 seconds I shaved my entire face so close that I thought I used a blade, or as my wife said, it felt as though it was waxed. I tried my chest next. Super fast and again felt waxed. The shaver feels like it shaving so close it will give you razor burn but it doesn’t. I have super sensitive skin. You can also use this as a wet razor but I only used it dry. So in theory you could also wash the razor off in a sink.My Braun and Norelco razors (both only a couple years old and about $100 and $200 respectively), required longer shave times going over the spots multiple times. With the Andis razor one pass shaved the area clear of hair. This razor shaves a good solid stubble to absolute smoothness on one single pass. On longer hair (say 1/2 inch) it would be best to trim that with a different razor or keep passing over it until it cuts it. I tried it on longer armpit hair and although it eventually cut it, it required multiple passes.USB-CThe most magical part of this razor is that it comes with a USB-C charger that plugs into the wall. I will only use the wall charger when home and plan to bring a simple USB-C cord with me when on the road. The big razor companies are missing out using proprietary chargers or building special holders that charge the razor and clean the head. I would imagine most people don’t want this today, as they crave simplicity. No one certainly wants to travel with a huge charging holder that is proprietary or bring more cords on the road, let alone have to keep track of that stuff at home.Plus, all of these companies tout being “green” but the lack of USB-C and giant plastic holders that use special cleaners show their true motive. What is MissingThe only thing missing on the sleek packaged, amazing Andis razor is a tight and small case and a small sideburn trimmer. Even if we had an option to buy a case afterwards, that would be welcome as this razor is an excellent travel companion. I also don’t mind not having a sideburn trimmer as I have other options and soon I hope they will be Andis options.Bottom LineI love this razor and I have already told many people in the first few hours of ownership about it. This product will make me consider other Andis options. I hope Andis takes on Philips Norelco’s OneBlade. I love the OneBlade product, but it could use massive improvements including more power, faster charge times, sleeker design, USB-C, and closer shaving capability.Andis is a top end company and this razor proves it.

Realy good
The best shaver Ive used. Usually they last less then a year its been much longer this time and its still going. This is because no water damage for it cuts so well you have it near the water much less. Cuts very close to and doesn't bother me to much with redness. Leave it leaning up to drain water.

Best Shaver for Beard and/or Moustache
I looked around for a replacement for my old Andis when it was time to buy a replacement blade/foil. I tried top tier alternative but found it awkward with my small beard and moustache. I hadn't searched for an Andis so I missed seeing this Andis 2.0 reSurge. It is definitely a big improvement. They have kept the two-tiered blades which makes shaving around a beard very easy. Cleaning is a 'snap' and the magnetic cover doesn't dislodge like the old standard Andis shaver. And the shave is very close (the blades are heavier and redesigned). Overall evidence of thoughtful/useful redesign.

Wouldn't bother
I was pretty excited to try this product out as I was looking for an electric shaver with a USB c port to minimize cords when I'm traveling.Came in super nice packaging and looks very sleek. Unfortunately the good things about the product stop there. It never would hold a charge for long at all. I started by charging it overnight and then immediately unplugged it and was able to use it and it worked pretty good. Then I went to use it the following morning and it was dead. I had enough time to plug it in for about 30 minutes before I went to work and was able to use it. I then left it charging the entire time. I was at work and came home about 9 hours later and unplugged it and turned it on just to make sure it was working. Great hopefully The problem was resolved. Then the next morning it was dead again.I then contacted customer service about it directly and they said that they would replace it in honor their 1-year warranty. Ok great.Well then they sent me a follow-up email saying that they wanted me to pay to ship it to them. I was like well. That's pretty ridiculous considering this product was essentially Dead on arrival. I gave them the option to either send me a shipping label or I'd just do the return through Amazon. As much as I'd like to do a free exchange through Amazon, I really don't want to support this company if they're not going to stand behind their product. Who's to say the same thing won't happen again in a few months and then I'm just stuck paying for shipping every time to switch this product out. I'll stick with my Panasonic I suppose and hope they make a USB-c model in the future.

Hit and Miss For Father and Son
I bought two of these to replace the rotary electrics my son and I had been using. He's rough on stuff and was on his 3rd rotary in as many years, but they were all entry-level rotary razors. For me, skipping a day or two of shaving made using the rotary razor challenging. I talked with my barber and he recommended the Andis brand as that's what they use in their shop. This model was new at the time so I bought one for each of us. I love mine with the single complaint that the catch cup doesn't retain shaving trimmings nearly as well as a rotary, but that might be due to the design of the foil head and a small price to pay for the superior shave of a dual foil over 3 rotary combs. All in all, I'm very satisfied with mine. It gives a much better shave in much less time than the mid-level rotary razor I was previous using. My son tried his and hated it because it left his face sore from razor burn. So now I have two razors. Coming up on a year of use, I've noticed it's time for me to get a new set of blades as the quality of shave has started to decline and it seems like it takes longer to get a satisfactory shave. One last note, we only used our razors dry shaving. I have no interest in exploring the wet shaving capabilities of the razor.
