I recently completed ST training. This book is so useful for me to review the fundamentals of schema therapy while applying the methods for my own issues as a therapist. It helps to apply the methods to the clients.

This book brilliantly addresses the challenge of consistently providing effective ST by better understanding our own schema’s. Created as an advanced level blueprint for understanding the emotions that may get triggered in client sessions (or life) the authors can almost be heard cheering on the reader to enhance the quality of their work. Written exercises and self-reflection help answer the questions that may come up in doing schema work: why am I feeling this way & what can I do about it? In helping therapists better recognize the impact of our personal schemas, the authors teach us step-by- step how to be fully present in our therapeutic work and able to more fully utilize the depth of the ST approach.
