Superb value for the money and well-spent.
Works as expected from a Nagoya product, and Iโm am not disappointed! Itโs an extremely rare gem in the GMRS world, being reasonably priced and easy to obtain. Its functionality is sound, and allows much greater range from the radio. The fit is superb and the flexibility prevents damage to the antenna.

Antenna come cut
I got this antenna for my mini 5 to use with GMRS band and the antenna got here on time and fit the radio nicely but for the price of the antenna an how it looked when it came was not such a great deal at all because after opening the antenna right out of the package it was cut/split on the side right up from the bottom idk if it will affect the antenna in anyway yet because i write this review right after getting it but it does make my mini 5 look like a nice match, I guess you will have that from time to time though I have heard that they make the best antennas for GMRS I still plan to use it just to see how well it performs compared to the stock antenna

It works.
My husband tried this Nagoya 701G on two different radios after putting the stock antennas back on, the results were the 701G did perform better than the stock antennas but he uses a Smiley antenna on both radios and the Smiley antenna did out perform the Nagoya. The 701G would be a good replacement for the stock antenna.

Excellent GMRS antenna
I've tried what seems like a ridiculous number of antennas on my handhelds and for GMRS purposes, the Nagoya NA-701C is my favorite. Even being a shorter antenna, you can tell it is tuned properly as with this antenna installed I can hit a repeater that's 14 air miles away that I couldnt reliably hit before, even when lying in bed. Previously the best results I had was with the 15.3" GMRS antenna from Abbree. I can also talk simplex with a friend just over 2 miles away in a hilly suburban area. I could only do that before if I was upstairs near a window. So, while I dont have expensive equipment to give a "scientific" analysis, the antenna's performance speaks for itself. If yuu need a great shorter GMRS antenna, buy one, you wont regret it.

Surprised at the performance from this little antenna

Broken after 1 Year of Use
After using on a Baofeng UV-5R for a year, the antenna threads detached from the antenna. This caused a weird static (radio was also barely functioning), and I thought the radio was at fault. Upon attempting to move the antenna to a new radio, I discovered the issue.

Seems to be the best perfomer
I finally bought an SWR meter. I was surprised at how much better the 701g performed on GMRS compared ro every other antenna I had. I was getting anywhere from 3 to 5 on my stock antennas. The nagoya 701g gets around 1.4 to 1.7 depending on the gmrs channel. I will definitely be switching all my gmrs radios to the 701g. The problem is I need to buy 7 or 8 of them. Each of my family members has 2 radios. You know, 2 is one, one is none and all. It gets expensive real quick. I've got a few other nagoya antennas I use on ham bands. I've never had any issues with them. They're durable. I like that they're flexible.

Terrible quality.
Purchased qty 2. Both are not tuned to 462 mhz, but somewhere 500+ . My Surecom measured SWR 2.85 to 3.0 @ 462 mhz. My VNA confirms these measurements. Terrible junk. Returning both.
