This book is must buy for beginner level

I love this book. I read it thru tranlating as I go. I understand about 80% of what I'm reading. Then I listen to the book on the Audible app and follow along. I then aattempt to read it aloud... alone. I feel like my vocab, my pronunciation and my listening skills are improving. Im going to order the 2nd book which is step up in difficulty after I feel more confident with this one.

Purchased this after a trip to Paris. I knew the very basics of french from growing up in Canada and this was a great place to pick up on.

I’ve become so confident in speaking French because of this series of books (Simple; Intermediate…) and the way that they’re laid out: the chapters are, at most, two pages, and it’s double spaced with a font size that facilitates picking it up and reading random sentences/exchanges. I leave it on my desk or dresser—it’s always out and within reach, and I throw it in my backpack if I’m going to the beach or wherever; it’s really that helpful. The narrative unfolds almost entirely through the dialogue of the two main characters, so if you’ve been using a language app and have a wealth of new vocabulary words, they’ll start to gel very quickly here. Personally, I find that reading it out loud has a way of etching it into the “practical use“ part of my brain. Bottom line: I can’t say enough about this book. If you want to use all the new vocabulary you’ve been memorizing then this is the next step—it is an absolute game-changer. Highly recommend!
