Life-changing.
I started reading the book to get some tips and tricks for my MBA interview, but ended up gaining a profound understanding of my life.We have a tendency to look back on our failures and belittle our decisions and actions in the past. However, the book helped me realize that tragedy and suffering are what make the human adventure special. It helped me value my achievements more, which in turn made me more passionate while talking about them. The friendship mindset that Angela talks about will not only help you ace your interviews but also help you tell better stories and build deep connections. The ability to build these relationships I feel, is the principal marker for success. The book also has several frameworks for specific interview question types, which, if you are short on time, can be used as they are (They are fantastic!). However, I would recommend going through all the hands-on exercises, building your own approach. You will find yourself!

This is your LAST MINUTE interview book that could turn things around.
You know that feeling where you've read everything about the company/B-school and networked with too many folks who've interviewed with them and all those opinions are messing with your head at the last minute? Yeah, grab this book. It'll help.Where this book shines:1. It keeps things really simple. When you read the section on "Friendship Mindset" and how to make that happen, it is so simple and intuitive. I'm sure most of us in an informal setting can make that happen naturally. This book gives you frameworks to make that happen in a formal, template-style meeting.2. The workbook that comes along with this is really helpful. Work with that along with this and you'll be set for all behavioral interviews.3. I've read a couple of books that delve into interview psychology and how to breakthrough. The thing is, they get so caught up in proving their point and presenting their research that by the end of the book, it can get hard to hold on to practical information. This book gives you simple tools that will be intuitive by the time you're done.4. It's short. So you can work and read through this and be set for your interview in a couple of days. What's lacking:It's helping you with interviews, not networking. Although some of the points help with all professional interactions. I'm reading her book on Networking to see if I can get some help in that department too.P.S. OK, now I feel a little bad about the 4-star rating. It feels like a 5-star but it doesn't give you any new information, just clears your head. So, I'm sticking with a 4. Honestly, that's all you really need for an interview. If you're working with the personality of a damp towel, no book is gonna help you.

Awesome Book
This is an awesome book. I had an interview with the Darden School of business and was really nervous. This book did help during that period of time. I think to a certain extent it did bring about a change in the way I look at interviews.Though there are a ton of things that I myself need to improve on, Angela's advice is spot on. While reading the book it almost felt like she is talking to me personally. And I could relate to most of the content from this book.I think it deserves a reread. To bring about change it is worth visiting the book again and again.Thank you for the awesome book!

Outstanding insights!!
Angela has hit this one out of the park! An amazing book, replete with a plethora of insights to help one master the right approach to crack most aspects of an MBA admissions or a job interview. While there are innumerable a-ha moments in the book, here are a couple of highlights - the friendship mindset Angela makes the reader realize (so intuitive, yet so powerful), and the wonderful frameworks such as WIMP she empowers the reader with to help pen mature, holistic responses to behavioral questions.I think I am going to re-read this book several times in my life. That's how powerful it is! Highly recommend to anyone trying to reinvent their interviewing style.

Must read!
Tbh, I was looking for a book about case interviews for BCG, and found accidentally this amazing book! There are no coincidence - the book (and Angela with her LinkedIn networking group) has changed my view on interview process, pushed me to learn more about storytelling and build confidence in being competent me - not only during an interview, but also on business meetings or while meeting new people. She teaches you to tell your story in more engaging and interesting way. Still way to learn, but I see a huge progress - and it's 100% true, that people like to talk to you, when you let them talk about them. And thanks to that, I've learnt sooooooo many incredible stories, and still counting ;-)On the job hunting - I started recently, but am passing at least phone interview and first round f2f interview, so not that bad I guess as for first few weeks. Thanks Angela!

For all of us who balk when asked “Tell me about yourself” - both in and out of interviews!
In league with the storytelling Bible “The Hero with a Thousand Faces” - Interview Hero is a hands-on, practical guidebook to human interaction and personal storytelling both in and out of interviews. It has helped me conquer my awkwardness and taught me how to hone and share my life stories. This is pure gold for anyone interested in having meaningful interactions. The skills I learned in Interview Hero guide my communication EVERY DAY, with everyone - including myself (my newly-honed life stories make me like and respect myself more as the “hero” of my own personal adventure...& my self-talk has become infnitely kinder). Not to mention, the author’s tone is warm, down to earth, and hilarious. I giggled my way through while underlining and taking notes like a fiend.

Shed Light On Interviews And Beyond
It is not only a book for cracking “dreadful” interviews which might change our lives, but also a book for pursuing personal growth, interpersonal connections, and a better society. In the first section of this book, Angela, the author, illustrated how interviews could go wrong by virtue of her experience as well as her friend’s. What’s more, she dug deeper from the surface of interviews to the core of individual values. I was surprised by the author’s magical power of revealing and tackling my problems by just talking about her experiences. To be more relatable, trustable, and likable to interviewers, she suggested three essential paradigms - Friendship Mindset, Confident Humility and Enthusiasm - aren't they also great paradigms for our daily lives! After triggering my huge curiosity, Angela cut the buck - uncovered seven classic stages of most interviews and articulated how she would help us conquer those stages in the following sections. Besides, Angela prepared us a workbook to practice relevant skills accordingly - I can’t wait to play with multiple skills in this book and crush all my coming interviews in the future!

I’m so happy I bought this book
I loved the book, it gave me so much confidence, self belief and empowerment to be my best self. It was really sorely needed and very, very effective.I don’t know whether I got the job I used this to prep for but that doesn’t matter because the advice in this book will stay with me forever. It was so relatable and written in such an organic way, I couldn’t recommend this book highly enough
