Just getting into hydroponics and made my own buckets and decided to let someone else do the hard work. The holes and rubber grommet to the straw for water level were perfect. The lack of readable directions and just a little different straw but easily figured out. The hardest part was the pump even using a hair dryer didn’t help much with getting everything secured. Clipping the splitter on became an issue as the clamp couldn’t be seated well. Even with that I would have given it 5 stars except the air pump is so loud you can hear it thru one brick wall and two shut doors( it’s outside and loud! Thus the 4 stars. It looks great, does the job it was intended to do and would certainly buy again but certainly would find a different air pump if you could.

Product (qty. two of the 5 gl. buckets, Vevor DWC) Came earlier than expected, nicely packaged and complete, as advertised. Notable mentions: For myself living here in the high desert it was to hard for me to grow veggies and herbs indoors, as soil has too many insects pest and messy, not to mention if leaving for a few days the soil would dry up and plants died. Not so much with this DWC sys. :) Minimal electricity use. Vevor DWC had the best value kit for the $$$. FYI>You will need meters for checking PH and nutrient levels, nutrients, distilled water, and some appropriate light source (s). natural sunlight and or artificial supplementation lights...i.e. LED etc. (I try to utilize the free sunlight where I am but depending on where you are ? you will need to figure it out. After I get the distilled water required I'll mix up a batch and should be on my way effortlessly growing much quicker to produce more high quality healthy food in my little greenhouse. Great product and great price

It took a while to set it all up, but was fairly straightforward. I see a lot of complaints about extra holes in the buckets, and the siphon attachments not working, but it’s not true. Read the instructions and look at the images, and it will be set it up right. You just need to pay attention.

I saw many of the other reviews stated they had issues with leaking but still saw a lot of good reviews so I decided to take a chance. I will outright say it seems like most of the good reviews are older so I bet the quality went down hill recently. But I had probably a good 20 days or so with this before it started leaking. And when I say leaking I don't mean just a drip, checked it before bed like normal, I keep all of my hydroponic products in a bedroom that was empty, I had bought only aerogardens but wanted to have a blueberry bush, dwarf mandarin orange tree, etc so I bought this because I have never used a bucket system. But back to what I was saying, I checked on them before bed and in the morning I found literally a pool of water from the pump area. Not only did it ruin my wood floor where the water pooled over night but it ruined my renogy power station I was using to power it and the anker outlet strip. Buying cheap has probably cost me thousands of dollars in damage at this point. I'm just lucky the power station and the power strip did not catch on fire!!! Do not buy this, it may not leak until like a month in but it will leak and it will be a fire hazard. I'm replacing the setup ASAP even if I have to spend hundreds to do so because I'd rather do that than let my house catch on fire due to the pooling water over night, as a reminder the pump is electrical and needs to be plugged into an outlet to work so water around the pump alone is a fire hazard. Please do not buy this! If you want a complete beginners set avoid this one at all cost, on top of it being dangerous the instructions are basically useless and I had to go to YouTube just to figure out the setup. I bought cheap at a little over a hundred dollars and I'm paying a huge price of having a couple thousand dollars worth of damage as a result.
