DIY -SALON quality nails that you’ll be proud of
About the photo : This look has no polish except a clear top coat , all the colors where achieved by using the azure beauty dip powder set of 6 colors -I only used 3 of the 6 colors , then added a clear top coat once done(Side note - I glued nail tips on before dipping)So Let me start by saying this isn’t a product you’ll buy and be able to get the perfect results the first use - you’ll have to practice but I promise by your 3/4 time you’ll start to see how much you’ve improved and it only keeps getting betterThis is m go to brand for dip powder bc it is so fine that the dip coats your mail even and smooth -as far as I’m concerned-the less filing i have to do -the better , and the finer the dip powder -the less filing you’ll need to do to smooth out your nailsI prep my nails by cleaning them, removing cuticles if needed, any polish or oil I may I have on them with polish remover , I then buff the nail very slightly to create a slight rough surface that I find helps when I next go to glue nail tips on my natural nailAfter the tips are glued on and cut down to the size I want I then put a primer on each nail to ensure my work will last as long as I want it too -until I choose to remove them, I don’t want any popping off unless I’m the one who wants them off, and I find that coating your nail with a good primer (for anything and everything -Including before you apply regular polish ) makes a compete difference compared to if you don’t use a primerWithout primer if I’m lucky my nails last 2 weeks -if I’m lucky, with primer my nails stay on until I choose to remove them which is usually around 3 weeks, but they would last even longer if I left them onSo invest in a good primer !After I have my tips on and they’re dried from the primer -it’s time to dipYou apply a base coat to your nail, the base coat isn’t any base coat -it is a clear base polish that is made especially for dip powders (I use azurebeautys base and activator bc they’re great with the consistency)Once you’re base is applied to ONE mail only (don’t apply to all nails at once bc it will dry before you dip them)So with a single finger nail with the wet base coat applied to the nail -you then dip your nail into the color of your choice making sure to not touch anything to the nail besides the powder, you the pull your finger up and out, you can tap it to remove the excess powder , I personally like to do a quick and forceful blow with my mouth to my nail because for me I find that to work best, but okay around to see what works best for you, you could also use a nail brush to dust away the access but if you chose that method wait a moment to let the powder set and the base to dry a bit before touching the brush to it to avoid it messing up the smooth application,Once your nail is dipped and the excess dust has been removed -you apply an activator polish that’s made specifically for dip powders -this is what hardens the powder on your nailYou can repeat the process of dipping to your nails until you reach a thickness that you find works best for you, I personally dip each nail 4-5 times , thick enough to not chip off on impact since I’m kind rough with my handsOnce you’ve done all nails you can apply a top clear coat to finish the look as well as protect your nailsYou can apply nail polish to your dipped nails or leave them as they areIn the photo I posted there is no polish besides a Matt top coat and a shiny top coat that I altered through my nailsThe nice thing about dip is you can find the color you want so really theres no need for polishI completed this look with their multi color trial size pack they sell here, I used 3 colors and alternated them throughout my nails to achieve this lookI even dipped some nails in one color then when I dipped them again the next time I did so in a iggter color to achieve an ombré type of lookI’ve tried acrylic, which I love and last long but it’s more difficult to use especially on yourself, not to mention the horrible smell acrylic gives off, I’ve done poly gel which is nice in its own way but it’s messy, as well as a lot harder to use than anything else In my opinion, plus it’s more expensive when you take into consideration the lamp you need , plus the gels and the base/top polishes , and the molds, etcAfter trying everything under the sun to find what worked best for me I found dip powder to be the best option, it’s easy, it’s fun, there’s so much to choose from in colors, it last forever , the possibilities are endless-apply to your natural nail with no tips to help your nails grow because they’re protected and won’t break when you apply dip powder to them because the dip powder after you apply the activator is a very hard consistencyOr apply tips to your nails , then do the dip as I do, to achieve a fresh new salon nail set look for a fraction of what you would payChoosing dip is saving me $100 a month at least because I don’t go to the nail salon anymore , I do my own !It can be messy with the powder, but that’s easy clean up, no polish so no worrying about spills or stains, just wipe the dust up with a wet paper towel and you’re good to goTry it ! It’s fun to try even if it doesn’t come out perfect the first time, I promise it gets easier and you can do it if you really want to do it and keep trying

The dark blue is not that dark
This is a great product, very user friendly and the cost per set sure outweighs the cost of one set of dip nails at the salon. My only complaint is it is difficult to find the exact colors I am searching for. This particular set has blues in it, and I was wanted a DARK blue, its more of a royal blue. The darker green is more of a "spruce" color and the lighter green reminds me of spearmint.Watch the videos on YouTube, read and re-read the instructions and follow them step by step. There is a slight learning curve, but this product has proven to be better than I expected. Each application has been better than the last.I will definitely purchase again.

Love these liquids!
I love these liquids! The base coat is not too thick and dries just slowly enough that you have time to clean up the cuticle area before the layer sets. Remember to wipe the brush on a lint free cloth or paper towel to avoid getting powder in the base coat which will harden the brush and contaminate the base coat. The activator is wonderful, dries fairly quickly. Once dried remember to wipe with a lent free dry cloth before applying top coat so as not to contaminate the top coat with any residue which will harden the top coat brush. The top coat goes on very smooth and I rarely have any bumps in it on my nails. The only time lumps/bumps happen is when I forget to press chunky glitter, but that will cause lumps/bumps in any top coat.I rarely have to use the brush saver, but when I have it cleans the brushes beautifully.

Don't flood your cuticles
What I like about this product is that is strengthened my natural nails. What I don't like is that the product cracks near the corners.Firstly, make sure your cuticles are pushed back and when you apply the base that you do not put too much. A nice thin even coating is much better than thick and bulky. I did three coats the second time around because my nails cracked with only two coats. When time comes to remove the product it can be time consuming and will dry out your skin so I suggest cuticle oil ( also promotes nail growth )I bought the powder by itself and got the azure 4-step system separately. The top gel is basically crazy glue so be really careful. I used it once, flooded my cuticles and it looked like a wet hot mess. I completely skip the top coat and use regular top coat.

Perfect as a base layer or building an apex.
I use this to build an apex, and encapsulate my glitter and colored dip powders on all my maini's, it really helps to add strength to my natural nails, I ordered a second jar to be sure I always have it on hand. it's very light a fluffy very fine powder, super easy to work with. I love the Azure Beauty line of dip powders, and would recommend to any newbie starting out, to give them a try.
