Marcy Multi-Position Adjustable Utility Bench for Home Gym Weightlifting and Strength Training

I was looking for a cheap bench to use for dumbell exercises. I tried Craigslist and found plenty of ugly, old, flat benches wrapped in duct tape there. They were all under $100 and would have been barely adequate. I was hoping for a bench with a reclining support for different exercises and found a nice Bowflex bench at Dicks sporting goods for about $170. That was out of my budget. Lucky for me, I stumbled upon this Marcy bench. It has all the features of the Dick's bench, but only cost me as much as a junky old craigslist bench! Assembly was pretty easy and the instructions were good. The bench os very stable and comfortable to use. The mechanism for adjusting the bench angle is very solid. The bench material is comfortable and seems pretty durable. I can easily push the bench against a wall when it is not in use. There are comfortable knee and foot supports for doing sit-ups and you can even drop the bench lower than horizontal for Roman Chair sit-ups. We are very happy with the quality and the price!

After hours of browsing for benches I decided to buy this one. I was going to get a more expensive one to match my revolution but decided that this didn't look too bad and was a reasonable price . I was unsure at first as I bought one a year ago nearly same price and it was quite unstable and would rock from side to side when moved on. It took me about 20 minutes to put together, the frame is pretty solid and sturdy . I did have a bolt that didn't want to go in but with a lil jiggling it went in. I'm pretty pleased with it, no rocking from side to side when I move and it's pretty sturdy , I know I stepped up on it to test it, I am 140 lbs at 5 ft 9.5 and didnt move. I'm pleased at it for the price of It and the quality you cant go wrong to get fit and build some muscle

My old Marcy SB-10100 lasted me ten years, but the surface was flaking and peeling so badly that the material was sticking to my skin and polluting my carpet. I replaced it with this one--the SB-10115, which is similar. One of the drawbacks of the 10100 is that the torso portion is not very long (or high, depending on the position and your vantage point). I'm only 5'8" with a short torso, but there were positions in which the bench barely supported my head because I was stretching over the edge. It seemed like the model had been designed for women. With slightly more overall length, my hope was that the 10115 would fix that problem. It doesn't. The backrest section is the same size (29 inches); it's the seat portion that Marcy lengthened. That's disappointing (the photos should show individual part measurements instead of just the overall size), but the upholstery on this one seems stronger. The 10100 has a thin film-like surface that doesn't hold up for long. Mine was cracking and peeling in no time. I got my use out of it, but so far, the 10115 has a more durable surface. Like the 10100, this one folds, but it does so in a simpler way. There are fewer moving parts. You pull a pin and fold. The foot guards on this one do not swivel up and down like the 10100, and the seat doesn't adjust up or down, but neither of those features is a big deal to me. The swivel feature was sometimes a nuisance. This is a basic bench that's well made--a good model for the money. But if you're tall or have a tall torso, certain positions might not support your head enough.

This is a great little weight bench that didn’t break the bank. Assembly was easy using basic hand tools, but do yourself a favor and grab something ratcheting (box wrench or a socket wrench) to make the task easier. The bench seat is comfortable and as you can see from the pictures very versatile. I haven't tried it for declines yet, but it's good to know this bench is there for me when I'm ready. Contrary to what other reviewers have stated, I find this bench to be very, very stable. I'm 5' 8", 225 and I can sit on this bench with weights in hand, shake side to side, and not move the bench at all. It's planted that firmly. One final rave is this benches ability to fold (not flat, but flatish?) for storage. It fits nicely in the dead space between the treadmill and the wall as you can see in the picture.

I ordered this bench because it seemed like a noce setup for a reasonable price. I feel many others did as well. I am totally happy with its performance. Took arpund 30 min to get together (a little easier with 2 people). Pieces were labeled and easy to find. I am around 207 and use anywhere from 25-75 pounds worth of weights. Ive never felt like it would dump me. Leg pads are thick and comfortable. Easy to fold up and put away. Nice product. If i had to complain about something, the gap between the top and bottom seat when flat is a little wide (for me). Im sure its the design of it being adjustable. Recommemded if you are on a budget.

I looked around for a weight bench for a while before stumbling on this one. The order said it would be available in a week and it was delivered on time. The assembly took less than 30 minutes, and it can be easily done, if you follow the instructions that comes along. I'm really happy with the quality, stability and sturdiness of the bench. The cushioning is firm, but I personally am ok with it. I do like the foot rest bar that came with it. It definitely adds more comfort to using this bench. All in all 5 stars.

I went into this purchase not expecting the best, but something substantial enough to get me by until I could afford something more expensive. Well, those worries were completely unfounded, because this is a very nice bench! Easy to assemble, super sturdy, and fairly comfortable. If I had to come up with a gripe, it would be that the back adjustment uses a metal rod that slips into slots to adjust the incline/decline. While this is absolutely fine in 99% of situations, it is a pain when you go to move the bench and forget that if you lift up on the back rest it will unhinge from the slot and fold upwards, so make sure to either slide the bench around by the seat area, or place your hand under the frame if you need to lift the entire thing.

Plan on spending at least a half hour putting this bench together and follow the manual totally to the T. All the screws and bolts are provided, however do not lose any of them or you may have to add more time putting this bench together by going to the hardware store for that one bolt or screw. Once together, this bench has been very sturdy for me and it is easy to fold up and put away. I weigh 160 and the bench doesn't wobble at all when I use my 50 pound dumbbells, the bench is supposed to be able to suppor up to 300 lbs. total.

Love this bench. Took a while to assemble but the instructions were straight forward. It’s quite sturdy . I’m about 145 lbs and I do weighted step ups on it and also use it for weighted hip thrusts and it doesn’t shake or feel like it’s going to break. Great addition to my at home gym.
