Nice way to get some cod liver into the body...yum
Cod liver in cans has always been my favorite treat while growing up in Europe. My dad would chop onions into very fine pieces, then placed on top of cod liver on a small plate. We would pick at this treat, with a few drops of lemon on top.Dr. Berg's video mentioned this brand. This Icelandic cod liver is mild and lovely. We now make this treat with it. Glad Amazon carries it.

Tried many brands This is top!
I eat several of these cans a week because I am addicted to the taste and I only eat meat so these make a great pre workout snack that keeps my blood sugar level. The pros with this brand:Fresher taste!Less oxidized piecesMuch more liver stuffed in the can than the rest. I was buying a different brand which would have mostly oil and just a couple pieces of liver floating in there.

The best cod liver
I want to write a review because I botched up the feedback, I mentioned another seller's item by mistake and there's no way to edit or fix it, I love these cod livers from Belveder, I have bought them many times at the stores but they're not on the shelves anymore so I placed the order, great price from this seller, very fast delivery, packed so good every can in perfect condition, these cod livers are the best tasting, thank you for the excellent service, I would order again when I run out.

Excellent! Add cod livers and oil for tasty, healthy salads!
Excellent product. Add 1/2 can of cod livers and 1/2 can of the oil to make a one-serving salad. The oil serves as the salad dressing. Delicious and nutritious.

Best taste of any Cod Liver I've had - but packed with too much oil.
This has the best taste of any cod liver I've ever had, but I must be careful, there are over 800 calories in one can (2 servings). I expect that is both the cod liver and the oil together to be that many calories. I see the can says packed in its own juices, to me, phrasing it that way could mean it is packed in cod oils, or cod liver oil, I'm not sure what to think. However, if it is indeed only cod liver oil then that is a huge boon for health to get more EPA and DHA from it too. I started drinking the oil after my snack of cod liver.I didn't give this product all stars because they pack it in too much oil and the oil is not identified. I also hope they don't use some kind of seed oil, that would ruin the product.

Best tasting cod liver brand.
I have been disappointed in the tast of some cod liver brands, some of them tasting “off”.Belvedere brand is mild, creamy and delicious. I ordered the 48 can case to stock up.I prepare a spread by mashing the contents of one can with a fork, and adding a squeeze of fresh lemon juice, a pinch of hot paprika, and spread it on hot toasted homemade Whole wheat bread. Truly a treat. I will order another case when this one runs out.

Just received (6 cans) -- produced in August 2023 and 'best before' August 30, 2028 ...
Production date (printed on the can): 30.08.2023 (i.e. August 8, last year)Best before: 30.08.2028... which means (I guess) that the livers have not shrunk yet, as their oilseeps out.P.S. I did not try it yet because I had my last can of Sanniti cod liver for lunch.----Update - Thursday, April 20thI just ate one can: big pieces of liver (4 or 5), not much oil. I added a few drops of vinegar (to enhance the taste)THIS IS THE ONE TO BUY !----------Second update - Friday, April 28, 2023The taste: It may be that my taste buds, getting old, are malfunctioning. All cod liver I have tried tasted very bland. Remedy: eat it with little cornichons (French type: Brunel or Maille), or with pickled vegetables ('pickles', pickled beets, ...), or put a few drops of balsamic vinegar on it. Note that one can makes a very good one-person meal (not including dessert of course).Third update - May 1st, 2023The can I had for breakfast contained several pieces, two of which seemed to have turned dark (i.e. a sort of greyish color instead of the usual pink). Not appetizing, so I did not eat these last two pieces. I have now only one Belveder can left; should i reorder this brand, or another one?

Delicious highly recommend
I just got into canned cod liver. My first batch was from Les Mouettes D'Arvor Cod Liver and was absolutely delicious but the price ($9) was a bit steep and the tin wasn’t that packed. I bought a few different brands of cod liver to find a more affordable substitute. I heard Officer was good but I did not like it at all. This brand, Belvedere, is sooo much better and more on par with Les Mouettes but more densely packed. A small bit was grey but I don’t care that much. I highly recommend this one. Give it a try!
