Anthony Percy's book is far more detailed and in depth than any other book I have read on (the failures of) MI5 during the period 1935-1950. The author places responsibility on the shoulders of Guy Liddell and his political bosses for not recognising the threat from soviet long term patient exploitation of a stream of sympathetic young men and women emerging from the country's top universitiesHis examination of the proposed visit to Moscow by Burgess and Isiah Berlin is, to my knowledge, unprecedented. The final chapter really is excellent imho on the security challenges faced by democratic societies and parallels with the current threat from islamic terrorism.Chalenging, highly enjoyale read
