Renewed my hiking boots!!
I used this product in combo with Nikwax conditioner for leather on my old and worn hiking boots. They are renewed!!! It was exactly what I was looking for to revive my boots for an upcoming trek. I picked this specifically because it is Gore-tex friendly and conditioned the leather beautifully. The roughed up portions of leather around the toe box i used a 3000 grit sandpaper to smooth it out and the wax darkened the color to be the same as the rest of the boot (see my pictures attached of before and after the conditioner and wax application). I haven't fully tested them on a hike yet, but I've tested with a faucet and the seal looks to be perfect.I let the conditioner fully dry for 2 days before adding the layer of wax and let's them dry for another 24 hours before using, just as specified in the instructions.

Good product
I've been using Nikwax for many years. Only thing I'll use to treat my hiking boots, tents and rain gear.

Be careful about the materials on your leather gear!
I used this to waterproof a pair of Outdoor Research leather ski gloves. Outdoor Research recommends this product for their leather goods, so I felt very comfortable using it... But I got too comfortable. My gloves have a patch of suede on the back of the thumbs for a nose wipe. I was working this Nikwax product into the seams of the gloves and some got on the suede. I fully acknowledge that the Nikwax tube states not to use it on suede, and now I know why. The suede absorbed the Nikwax cream and became a greasy, sticky mess. Outdoor Research's amazing customer service recommended using corn starch to absorb the oil but that only had a small effect. The damage was done. I'll probably try a stronger degreaser, or even rubbing alcohol at this point, but that will likely damage the rest of the gloves.I would not recommend using this on any leather goods having mixed materials, including suede or synthetic. It worked well on the smooth/shiny leather though! 4 stars for that.

Miracle cream!
Every fall when I bust out my boots, I actually look forward to rubbing in a coat of Nikwax because it feels like I’m getting new boots all over again. The one pair is 15 years old! They fit better and better over years while becoming that sort of luxury-looking and -feeling leather that you think only exists in hallmark channel movies.

Worked on Frye campus boots
I bought this for my Frye boots. Since they are expensive, I wanted to protect my investment. In the pictures, you can see there isn’t any color change; the boot on the left is untreated, the boot on the right has the waterproofing solution on it. No color change. The solo picture is after treatment; no obvious color change.

Seems to do the job
Boots were beat up and had been soaked, figured I’d try and see what this could do. So far so good, seemed to bring the life back nicely. Definitely changed the color as you can see in the photos.
