Heating problem
My 2008 Cadillac DTS was heating up and the fans weren’t turning on……I bought this cap and the fans work now. The seal on the old cap was letting pressure out of coolant reservoir and temperature wasn’t regulated correctly. New cap fixed the problem.

Fixed the problem
My radiator did not pressurize. Borrowed a test kit at AutoZone, found a bad cap and this fixed the problem.

Fixed a mysterious coolant loss and higher than usual temperatures
Radiator cap o-ring was worn causing my usually pressurized coolant system to lose coolant and climb in temperatures very quickly. Before you replace the thermostat, radiator, water pump, etc make sure you check the cap first. As someone here remarked the o-ring around the shaft of the radiator cap should stick out and be plump. Mine was flush with the cap causing the said coolant loss. Check your cap before you do any pricey repairs folks.
