EROIR Bread Baking Kit Large

The media could not be loaded. I ordered this bread lame a few days ago and I am delighted to see what I got. The best things about this product that differentiate it from others are; - Wooden handle with nice grip and a strong stainless steel part which is very well fixed - Serves the purpose perfectly with super sharp blades - Excellent packaging in a wooden box to protect the lame and keeps your and your loved one's fingers safe - Very easy to use and that too comes with instruction manual (which is useless for such an easy to use design) - There are 5 good quality blades (both sides of each blade can be fully utilized) so that if some are used you can still have plenty for your rest of the bread - Works far better than a cutter or knife or anything, as the blades are very sharp, thinner than a knife and you can have better control over the cuts as there will be no drag.- Also, there is a good quality leather cover to keep the blade protected.I must say that EROIR bread lame is a super bread lame that makes baking more exciting and is very much recommended.Great value for money.

This Lame (aka, Gringette) is1. nicely made,2. has an easy to grip handle3. has a stainless steel tip is a bit thicker thus sturdier4. comes with a safety cover5. comes with a storage case6. comes with spare blades (and blades are cheap to buy afterwards)7. is designed to curve the blade in useI've used lots of other alternatives such as scissors, serrated knife, paring knife (and others). All dragged on the dough and made a ripple along the edges. I bought cheap plastic scalpels thinking that their pencil-like shape would make it easy. Although they didn't drag as much they were only OK. (but I do use them for designs on the top of the loaf, boule or batard after doing the main cut).The thing that this lame gives me is the ability to make a long, deep (1/2 inch, or about 1.5 cm) slash in one go. The curve causes the valley made by the slash to have a high side with a distinct edge. (Hold the tip at a 45 deg angle to the top of the bread.) That bakes up to a very nice "ear" that I never got using a different tool.If you are able to make a nice tasting loaf, get this to make it nice looking, too. First impressions count.

Everything is of great quality. Comes with blade cover and storage box. Directions included as well.

I like the design of the whisk (if you would call it that). Works well for my bread making. The lame works well, also. I am, however still trying to devise a storage means for it because it is so sharp. I could unload and reload it each time, but I’m afraid that is increasing my finger laceration chance.

I have not used this product yet. I can say it looks like a good product and I really like the protective box and leather sleeve for the blades.

The blades are bendy , but it is easy to assemble and use. The blades are sharp, and it believe it is an affordable price. It is an amazing tool to have, for sourdough loaves . I would highly recommend it for a beginner(like myself) or even a professional . Could recommend it more.

This whisk is authentic. The weight is evenly distributed ( no tired fingers) it gets the job done and looks cute too. The lane does an excellent job of cutting through the top of the dough. (This places the traditional cross on the top of Sour dough bread. Great kit.

I am a professional baker. A good lame is a must. After 20+ years it was time to replace mine. This was a great price so I bought it. Very well made. Nice & thin blades which are easy to use and change. A sturdy handle and easy to hold. Smooth with no splinters. I use it everyday. I have no doubt that this lame will last me another decade or more if I don’t retire first. If you are a home baker and you want beautiful breads, get this lame. Then practice, practice, practice.

Amazing purchase. Easy to embed shapes in the dough. When used as a set, you can create beautiful curved patterns, and when using just the blade, delicate designs on bread dough are possible. A satisfying product.

Works perfect, should have purchased a long time ago

The presentation is very nice - sturdy box to hold the lame and razors. Little leather pouch to hold the used razors after cleaning. Only slightly tricky to get the razor on and off the tool for cleaning. But it really does the trick for scoring bread (see photo) - even on the very wet and sticky dough I make for my rustic breads - so probably does an amazing job on stiffer doughs. If I were to give it a grade instead of stars, it would be a solid B.

Danish whisks are amazing! This is my second one I buy since I wanted another whisk and a scoring knife. They are sturdy and mix bread really good!

Great for those of us that like to bake. Its good looking, easy to use and has a good price
