Very Straightforward and Fast
I read through lots of reviews on this test kit and decided there were more good than bad. I tried it out, as we needed to test some suspicious looking insulation in all three of our old fireplaces. Our house is 108 years old and has three (non working) fireplaces that have cast iron inserts and covers over them. When you remove the cover, there is gross, fuzzy looking insulation on the face of the inserts. Judging by how old the house is (we just moved in btw), we knew it was most likely asbestos.I took a chance on this kit because I wanted a less expensive way to know for sure before doing any diy work on the fireplaces. As long as you’re capable of following pretty clear- easy to understand directions, this kit is perfect. Make sure you wear the proper recommended gear!! After I had everything done I took the sealed envelope with samples inside to the post office to send directly. Paying an extra $10 or so to do that was worth it considering you’re still saving $$$ not having to hire in a company. Make sure you tell them there MAY be hazardous material. After it was shipped it only took 1 week and a couple days to get my results. They directly text you and from there you can open a link to see your results.Unfortunately, our insulation is asbestos but now that we know for sure (which is what I needed to do) we can proceed accordingly and attain some peace of mind knowing it’s not a not a mystery anymore.Highly recommend!

Solid kit. 24-hour turnaround
I was very happy with this kit overall. The process is well organized and the results were received fast. I had popcorn ceiling texture tested. They sent me a text message when the sample was delivered to their lab, and the very next day they sent a text message and an email with the test results.Note that this product does not come shipped in a cardboard box as pictured. It was delivered in a thin plastic wrapper and includes no PPE.I have a few minor complaints below, but nothing worth docking a star for. I am mainly only mentioning it so the manufacturer can improve their product. The padded envelope they give you to ship the sample in has the lab address printed in giant text that covers most of the envelope. There was no space to write a return address or place postage. I brought it to a postal store and even the employee (who deals with mail all day long) was a little puzzled about it.In the sample kit, they give you two zip bags for your sample, an inner bag and an outer bag. You have to put the inner inside the other bag as a safety measure, but they are both the same size, so you have to fold the inner bag to get it into the outer one. It would have been nice if the outer bag was larger. The instructions don't say anything about how much loose material to include inside the bags. I sent in about 2 tablespoons worth, and they accepted it. I was initially confused about the "1 inch by 1 inch" size requirement, but then it dawned on me that this applies only to solid samples, like a piece of drywall, and has nothing to do with loose material. I suppose it probably doesn't matter how much loose material you put into the bag, so long as it's enough for testing. I assume the 1 inch limit is to ensure the sample fits on the lab equipment. Some extra information here might help other customers.

Easy to use, you may want to get more kits than you think in order to test larger spaces
We have a small house, around 460sq ft of popcorn ceiling in the living and dining room. We got the box with three tests so we could be sure that we captured any trace of asbestos as any amount over 1% is considered to 'contain asbestos'. I sampled three spots around the ceiling and then sent the samples through USPS tracked and got the results faster than expected confirming our suspicions that this 1970s popcorn ceiling does indeed contain asbestos. For any large of a space, or even separate rooms I recommend getting another batch of samples just in case what you are testing does not contain uniform asbestos residue.

Prompt, detailed, and excellent service!
After pulling back the top layer of flooring in our house, discovered what appeared to asbestos flooring. I found this company was the most affordable, especially for a 72 hr turnaround. I'm really happy I went with them. I recieved the sample kit and sent them a small sample of the flooring. I recieved a text message the moment they recieved the sample. That was pretty cool just to know they got it! By the way, use USPS and it is much cheaper and quicker! UPS wanted 15 bucks to get it there in a week. USPS sent it Saturday at 12:30 and it arrived Monday afternoon for $12. Mind you, I live in VA and the lab is in CA. Their sample kit fits through as a letter at the post office. The worker slid it through the little size checker tool and it was a perfect fit. That's smart thinking from the lab, and saves money for me! Anyways, they texted me Thursday that my results were ready and I found it in my email. It is a detailed form explaining the composition of the material. I really found it easy to understand and helpful. To my surprise, there was no asbestos in the tile, however, they did do a test on the adhesive underneath it. It did contain 3% asbestos. I'm so happy they tested that as well. I would have never known! I'm so pleased with the experience. I will definitely be using them again as I do more projects on our old house. Great value and customer service!
