Great, but terrible battery life
I was highly impressed by this thing - for it's size it does a LOT and sounds great. But there's a big problem - it eats batteries like nothing. You won't get 30 minutes on a set of fresh batteries. Even just using the metronome or tuner will eat them up like that. OK so the solution is to plug it in, but for me personally it defeated the purpose. It's a cool bit of kit you can strap to your best and plug some headphones in while noodling around. Having to keep it plugged into the wall removes a lot of that advantage (and also makes me wonder how much power it is consuming for such a tiny device.. I guess it's badly designed internally).Giving it 4 stars because for the price it's good value, but unfortunately I found myself not using it because if I'm going to start plugging into the wall and running a cable to the floor, then I'll just go with my normal pedals and a mini amp.

Amazing piece of kit for the money. Perfect for the home musician.
The media could not be loaded. ย I can't get over just how much functionality has been crammed into this little device at such a modest cost!If you're looking to lay down some chugging metal chords, the distortion effect is superb and, for playing fluid lead breaks, it produces an incredible amount of sustain. The delay/reverb is quite subtle but very nice too. There are some more gimmicky effects, which aren't to my taste (like a sort of slightly wonky tremolo/wah), but may be to yours.A very nice touch is the built in drum machine which, whilst obviously not as versatile as my Korg drum synth, should suffice if you're looking for some basic rhythms for practice. The guitar tuner does the job, but is a bit fiddly to use. In fact, my only criticism is that the bewildering number of features, knobs and buttons all look and feel rather daunting at first, so you will certainly need to invest some time into working out how best to configure it to suit your needs. To change the tempo of a rhythm, for example, requires 3 quick presses on the drum knob. The supplied DC adaptor works perfectly or, if you prefer complete portability, as I do, two AAA batteries can power it. There's even a clip at the back to attach the PockRock to your belt, if you want to strut around doing the whole rock star thing.Whilst probably not robust enough or instantly configurable for live/professional use, for a dabbler in home guitar & synth composition like myself, this is an amazing little beast and I'm happy to recommend it most highly.I've only tried it with my old Squier Strat so far, but will be plugging my MicroKorg through it next for a bit of experimentation.Make sure you shop around for the best price.
