The typical caulk uses acetic acid (like vinegar) in its formulation, making it safe and low odor product for a wide range of applications. The downside is that these types of caulks take longer to cure, and should be applied in warmer temperatures. That's where a solvent-based caulk like this product can step in and handle those situations where normal caulk just isn't up to the task. Lexel still works in colder conditions where acetic acid caulks start to thicken and no longer stick. It still flows and tacks relatively well at lower temperatures. It is also a bit more water resistant in its uncured state and can handle damp surfaces without melting away during application. When used as an adhesive, in my opinion it seems like it creates a somewhat stronger bond than regular caulk. Make no mistake, this is not a product that you want to use to seal up most areas of your bathroom or kitchen. For that matter, it should be used rather sparingly indoors or anywhere there's limited ventilation as again, it's solvent-based and does release a fairly strong solvent smell. You will also need some type of solvent, such as mineral spirits or citrus degreaser if you want to wipe away any excess product or clean uncured product off of surfaces. The label also cautions about use on plastics that are prone to break down when exposed to solvents, mainly styrenes, foams, and PP, PE plastics. For those more difficult tasks outdoors, where it's cold or damp at the time of application, or instances where you need that big thick layer of not-super-high-strength adhesive, this stuff excels at sticking and sealing.

Could not remove old sealant that was failing. This sealant worked well to adhere to old and properly seal a door threshold edge and the base of door frame. It cures fairly quickly and takes paint well.

Better than liquid nails. works on wood, metal, concrete, easy cleanup with wd40 when wet. Does not dry n crack.stays slight flexible but does not pull apart or Pull off.

It worked perfectly to seal the broken pavement outside

I bought to apply a shower strip to the bottom of the shower door. Metal on metal, light weight. I clamped it in place for 2 days before getting wet and it is holding well. I think the product is very sticky and would be difficult to make a smooth caulk edge and am only using it for bonding but it works.

Very good value. This is an excellent clear sealer, no odor and very easy to apply. Dries pretty quickly and is completely clear.

I used this product for a project I did with the marbles and I can say that it holds. Just be aware that the glue is a little hard to remove from your skin.
