Is the lining open inside as a "true" mitten - or does the lining separate the fingers?

June, Hi. The lining is open inside like a true mitten; it does not separate the fingers. I find these gloves to be quite warm. The only minor issue I have with them is that sometimes my fingers will sweat inside the mittens and I need to make sure they dry completely before wearing them again.

Has anyone tried these gloves with double rag wool mittens inside as liners? Is there room for them?

I imagine it depends on the size of you hands and whether or not you can oversize the Carhartt gloves enough to accept the added bulk. I would put on the rag wool mittens and check the sizing with them on you hands. Then check the size availability of the Cahartt gloves. Good luck.

Is the lining like fleece or is it more like a rip-stop nylon?

According to the label, the lining is 100% polyester. It isn't fleece-like.

Warme handen in de US, niet in Nederland

Deze handschoenen gekocht o.b.v. de positieve recensies in de VS, ze vanmorgen in de praktijk getest: Fietstocht van 50 minuten bij een temperatuur van rond de 2 a 3 graden. Helaas bleven mijn handen niet warm, de koude werd wel redelijk gedempt, maar toch al vrij vlot koude vingers en duim. Daarom gaan ze ook retour geen waar voor dit geld. Wat direct al opviel was: - Had maart M besteld (deze heb ik altijd) maar de handschoenen vallen veel groter, zie de foto, lijkt wel maat X of XL - De binnenvoering voelt zacht aan, maar dat is dan ook alles ze voelt erg dun aan.

Almost too good - very very warm!

I usually wear gloves, but injured a finger and needed something with more room. Love these mittens and will wear them from now on. They do however get very warm and pretty sweaty after a day skiing. Remember to turn them inside out to dry at the end of the day.
