Review: A simple, well-made record puck - Whether you believe that record weights make a difference to sound quality only you and your own ears can tell. Personally I am sceptical of elaborate, fantastically expensive record weights costing hundreds - even thousands. That seems absurd and nothing more than conspicuous consumption. But in my experience I *do* hear a subtle difference when I use a record puck like this one -- slightly better focus in the sound, more controlled bass and highs. This particular puck is relatively light (190gms) and Pro-Ject recommends it for its models such as the Debut, the Carbon and the X1 and X2. For three years I used Project's own Clamp-It -- the same purpose but the Clamp-It is tightened onto the spindle thus holding the LP and platter more closely together by pressure rather than weight. That works well but the thread on mine has started to wear and it has become a bit troublesome to use. Considering that the Clamp-It costs nearly three times what this puck does, that is not very good. I thought Pro-Ject might agree and exchange it but I was wrong. I bought this instead and I'm happy with its performance -- and there is absolutely nothing to go wrong with it either. Review: Nice and compact and seems the right weight for the job. - I bought this as I had a record that slipped. There were plenty on the market but as I have a project turntable I went with this. Does the job record played. Also as it is nice and flat you can close the lid while it is on. Some others seemed high.

Quality Control non-existent!!
Does what it should!! Arrived on time and well packaged. It looks great and good value and weight for the money, along with a cork slip mat I believe it has improved the bass. Ive only given 1 star due to poor quality control at Project as unfortunately its scratched and now have the hassle of returning and waiting for a replacement puck....

Does the job that I required

Check your spindle height! The spindle height with the disc mounted must not exceed 10.5 mm
Missed this when buying the E-puck for my Pro-ject Jukebox E. My fault really but wouldn’t recommend this product. There are far better pucks out there better quality and weight.

Works
Wasn’t sure if this was just an unnecessary gadget but having used it for a while now, it does stop some of my albums slipping on the mat. But even if it’s not really necessary it looks trick, so thats worth it for me, sad but true.
