Redesigning Work: How to Transform Your Organisation and Make Hybrid Work for Everyone

Makes me excited for the future!
I had a real sense of relief reading this book – most discussions around the future of work, return to office, hybrid working, the pros and cons of working from home, all focus on it as a zero-sum game. If feels like there is no solution to this, there are just too many competing demands, and no easy way to make people feel happy and productive in integrating their work and home lives. This book is different – it outlines the opportunity we have to reimagine and redesign the way we work, how businesses can get the most out of their staff, and how those staff can be energised, productive and happy wherever they are. It’s set this out very practically, so that you can take the ideas explored here and quickly apply them to your own organisation. And there are plenty of real world example along the way, so it never drifts too far into theory. It’s also straight to the point, simply written and not too long – which is sensible given the people who are making decisions about the future of work are normally pretty busy!So if you are involved in what the future of work looks like for your business, or are just interested in how the post-pandemic world of work will evolve, this is an excellent read.

PERFECT TIMING
Tbis wonderful book comes at just the right time. So much is being questioned and changed in companies looking at the way work style, worklife and workspaces can be rethought and redesigned. There is so much to learn from Lynda’s experience and insights into what is been discussed and tried within different companies and cultures, and her views on what the issues are and how different they are from one company to another. So much to learn from Lynda’s writings and so many questions are helpfully explored. A really worthwhile conversation.

Such a valuable resource for individuals and organizations embarking on the #FutureOfWork journey
The introductory section alone is such a great executive summary of the various themes, before delving into the variety of topics individually. It draws so many of the diverse threads together into a comprehensive narrative and approach on a topic which continues to evolve before our very eyes. The book also taps into other highly respected thought leaders on this subject, thereby providing a range of different perspectives as we navigate this new future landscape of work.

An essential read for everyone embarking on the new world of hybrid work
The dedication of this book 'to all those bold enough to redesign work' reflects its powerful combination of optimism and pragrmatism. As always, Gratton has taken a complex idea (hybrid work) and turned it into something simple that we can all apply within our teams. I particularly appreciated the dual focus on enhancing productivity while safeguarding wellbeing - certainly the challenge of our times. Would highly recommend.

The Emperor's New Clothes?
I never know where you stand with Lynda Gratton. I have attended some of her talks and she is mightily impressive in person; however, all of her books leave me cold, this current one being no exception. Some call her visionary; personally, I see her as someone who capitalises on common sense when common sense is a rare commodity. I see nothing new in here I've not seen in numerous other reports and studies - which pre-date Ms Gratton's current book - and are available free of charge.
