KNIPEXTools - CoBolt Compact Bolt Cutters, Multi-Component, Tethered Attachment (7102200TBKA)

I have several Knipex tools. This is the only one I have been disappointed in. I used these for several weeks with no problem. Today when I was using it to cut a relatively soft, small diameter nail the cutting edge chipped. Of course it was after the return window. It appears mine was not hardened properly. I can still use them, but I have a 1/8" gouge in the blade to try and avoid cutting with.

I had knock off cutters that look like these, but it still took a lot of effort to cut 6 gauge copper wire for bonsai. It wasn't until I started unwiring trees that I realized how much I'd be using wire cutters. I decided to stop being cheap and buy a wire cutter and man am I happy. It's like cutting 12 gauge. So effortless. As usual being cheap just ends up costing me more money because now I have an obsolete wire cutter. I keep that cheapo out in the garage for impromptu work and keep these bad boys in the tool pouch when it's time to get serious.

This is by far the best pair of cutters on the market. If you can get it in its jaws it will cut it. Knipex may not be USA made but the quality and construction are on par or superior to anything made domestically. Worth every cent. This is the second pair of these that I have owned, the first was the normal set, the second was this one with the ergonomic grip which I find much more comfortable to use for extended periods of use. You should definitely get a pair of these. And check out their other products. I'd give 7 stars if I could.

The Knipex 8" bolt cutter is very well built, but it does not actually cut any better than a regular compound cutter. It would cut a 1/8" nail, but it would not cut the exposed 1/8" tip of a steel construction screw. It will probably last longer than a less expensive compound cutter like the MCC MN-0020 8" Midget Nipper, but it will not cut any better. In fact, it will not cut off exposed nails as close as the MCC cutter.

I’ve built miles of hi tensile fence over my career, these were a great discovery back in 2001 or so. I’ve onLy used for straight cuts on appropriately sized wire, 11 ga I think, cuts effortlessly. Lasts forever under these conditions, the ones buried in grass or cow pies not so much. If you ever struggle with hand strength when cutting wire, buy these. If you cut wire all day long, buy these. Or one of the knipex models.

These are everything that knipex claims them to be !!! I’ve cut 1/4 stainless bolts with them and no marring to jaws !!! Great value , highly recommend .....

I have used the lesser priced bolt cutters in the past, they just don't get the job done and get worse with age. This cutter is my second, one for my shop, the other has been going strong for several in my boat without issue. If you get a hook in you with the fish still attached, this is the tool you want for sure.

I bought these to keep in my boat toolkit so that I would always have something that can cut off a fish hook, regardless of how big the hook is. First thing I did when these cutters arrives was to cut one of my bigger hooks, and they cut through it like it was butter. Just the ticket.

I was a little leery about spending this much money on a little bolt cutter, but it met my needs and worked VERY well. I spent the afternoon cutting through aa ton of barbed wire. I must have made 500 cuts. My hand wore out before the cutter did. I've decided it was worth it. The only thing that would have made it better, was if I had spent the extra money to get the one with the spring to open it automatically.

These are incredible! High quality material and cuts like nothing else of its size. Everybody should own a pair.Knipex made a customer for life with these. I hope they keep it up!
