Typical High Quality Woodpeckers Rule
I like to collect and use various Woodpeckers woodworking tools. Always high quality. I like how the aluminum rule edges are relatively flat, with the rule marks going all the way to the edge. I did have to pay a premium on Amazon as the 12 inch rule is hard to find in stock.

Legit Shop Upgrade
Surprisingly robust but lightweight. Feels great in the hand. Thick and sturdy enough to use as a straight edge in addition to using as a ruler. Haven't seen a rule quite like this one. Very nice and affordable shop upgrade. Some early thoughts on using this as a light duty straight edge. First, I would caution overly aggressive use (referencing and woodworking etc) because the edge itself is tapered and perhaps a tad fragile for these types of uses. (That same tapered edge is what makes it a sweet ruler.) On the flip side, it's kind of the perfect straight edge for certain uses because of that thinner edge, where it allows you to see the light coming through so much easier than a thicker straight edge (eg. Lee Valley/ Veritas ) . Maybe I'm asking for it by using it for both things. Time will tell. Perhaps a better answer would be to check out the SERX line of this brand for intriguing hybrid straight edge and ruler: flat thicker side on one edge, tapered on the other. Although I have not used these..
