Game changer
I didn't want to carry gas... the battery life is pretty decent. The noise level is higher than a mower but not like a gas blower might be. It works well and cleaning power is nice. There is a function for a boost of power/ extr speed, but this decreases the battery like. I think it is a great value for your money. We have so many trees on our lot that shed leaves this helps get it out of bushes, grass and around objects. I'd say it is true to the advertised battery life.It charges in 45 mins so really you can depleted do something else and come back pretty quick.Highly recommend

Convenient to use and recharge.
Lighter than my more powerful Echo backpack blower but not as powerful and the battery does not last for more that a standard size driveway and sidewalk. However, there is no gas to buy, plugs to change or issues with a mechanical engine running or exhaust fumes. It is also much quieter than my Echo gas back pack blower. For bigger jobs, you really need 2 batteries. If I was doing more than a standard size home or needing it for all day commercial usage, I would stick with the gas blower. Although the Greenworks does not blow quite as strong as the Echo, I prefer it for my personal home usage.

Works Well But Has a Few Problems
I fell down while blowing leaves with my old backpack gas blower. The fall shattered the frame (the blower's, not mine) and I decided to invest in a new blower. I'm 73 and wanted something with a little more power that wasn't too heavy, and I didn't really like mixing and storing the gas. This seemed to fit the bill. I went and looked at some of the most powerful electric backpack units and I couldn't believe how heavy they were. This one is about 4 lbs. heavier than my old backpack blower, but isn't too heavy for me.It actually works very well and it has good volume and pressure for a homeowner. I live on a 4.5 acre woodlot and have about 800' of gravel road to keep clear as well as the pine needles and leaves that collect around the house and fence lines. I also like the chest strap which wasn't on my gas blower. It keeps the shoulder straps from sliding off.So far, I've only used it twice. I'm not crazy about the harness and straps. They seem overly large and stiff compared to my old blower and they 'cover' the hand hold at the top of the frame which I use to store it on the wall. That makes it a little difficult to get it in the right position to push it on the tool hook. I wanted an extra battery and couldn't believe the price. It was literally $20 less than I paid for the whole blower (blower, battery and charger) which I got on sale. I got lucky and finally found a genuine manufacturers battery for well less than half of the manufacturers MSRP. The big negative for me is that it was a nightmare to try and connect the tubes past the throttle handle. They are very slippery, didn't want to go together and were nearly impossible to spin and lock in place. I finally got them together, but they seem a little sloppy. I'm going to put some tape around the seams. The manufacturer needs to pay attention to this problem. These are the reasons that I gave it 4 stars instead of 5.One final thought is that my gas backpack blower lasted 15 years and was still going strong until I fell and broke it. I don't really 'feel' like this blower is going to be around for another 15 years - but I don't think I will be either - so it doesn't make much difference ;-)

Doesn't work as advertised
Misleading advertising, poor customer service and a track record of products that don’t come close to lasting as long in run time or life as their gas powered alternatives. The: “About this item” states “Up to 18 minutes of continued run time on high speed with a fully charged 80V 2.5Ab battery”. I didn’t get nearly the 18 minutes of run time I specifically ordered this item for, but I did get 18 ++++ minutes of on hold time attempting to reach customer service. Upon doing so and providing all purchasing information I asked why I was getting 8 minutes of run time as opposed to the 18 advertised. They replied their product description states “up to 18 minutes”, not 18 minutes. I replied 8 minutes of run time doesn’t qualify for a representation of “up to 18 minutes”. After being placed on hold I was subsequently told the actual run time was closer to 8 minutes if turbo mode is used. Turbo is higher velocity than high velocity. It’s needed, used, and cuts the advertised run time to 8 minutes. As if that isn’t bad enough, the actual run time without using turbo is a measly 11 minutes, not 18. This begs the question: is advertising up to 18 minutes when you get 11 false advertising? Under what actual conditions would 18 minutes be achieved……..zero gravity? For days I attempted to speak to someone at Greenworks remaining on hold numerous times until hanging up over excessive wait times. They lack a call back option and if they do post an email address on their website you would have to be Sherlock Holmes to find it.I was told they do sell a 120 Wh battery that provides 233% more power. When I asked how long would the turbo run time be with this battery upgrade I was told “I don’t have that information”. I explained I had just purchased two complete units based on the advertised run time and ordered two several years ago. The blowers and their batteries didn’t last. I asked given the shorter than advertised run time, and the fact that I purchased again despite past issues and the days I spent trying to reach them, could they can do anything for me on the better battery? The reply was a firm “NO”. After posing the question an alternative way I was again told NO. Based upon my experiences, I can’t recommend this company or its products. I find that unfortunate given their selection and electric powered products.Ironically I had been hyping battery power to a landscaper prior to receiving my new Greenworks blowers and was considering asking the town’s mayor to outlaw gas powered lawn mowers, trimmers, blowers and weed whackers. Instead I’m posting this review and deciding whether to return the blowers I just purchased.

Love the Functionality
The is a great machine for my needs. Easier on my back the battery lasts great and charges fast. The blower itself is very pwerful and moves bushels of leaves fast. The backpack is easy to carry and extremely well balanced. Assembly takes minutes and was easy.
