Williams JHWWRS-1 Magnetic Multi-bit Ratcheting Screwdriver, 9-Inch

I’ve used Snap-on ratcheting screwdrivers before, and this Williams JHWWRS-1 is surprisingly close in performance. The ratcheting action is smooth and solid, and the magnetic shank holds the bits securely while working. Williams lists a heavy-duty 3-way ratcheting mechanism and a stainless-steel shank, and you get five bits included. The handle is comfortable and has a good grip, and the screwdriver feels durable enough for everyday professional use. Compared with the Snap-on version, the main differences I noticed are the handle design and the lack of the knurled section on the shaft. The Snap-on does have a more premium feel, but functionally the Williams performs extremely well. For the money, I honestly think the Williams is the better value. If you like Snap-on tools but don’t want to pay the Snap-on premium, this is an excellent alternative. Highly recommended for anyone who wants a quality ratcheting screwdriver without spending a fortune.

This screwdriver is honestly one of the best values I've found in a hand tool. Williams gives you that Snap-on level of quality and feel without the Snap-on price, which makes this an easy recommendation. The variety of bits makes it incredibly useful, and I find myself reaching for it more often than my standard screwdrivers. It feels extremely sturdy, the grip is comfortable, and the 9-inch size is just about perfect for getting good leverage without feeling cumbersome. The magnetic tip works great and holds everything securely when you need it. The ratcheting mechanism is smooth and makes repetitive work much easier as well. I've used plenty of other screwdrivers, including non-Williams models, and this one has quickly become my favorite. **5/5** for quality, versatility, ergonomics, and value. It genuinely feels like a premium professional tool at a much more reasonable price.

This (and the near-identical Snap-on version) are the best ratcheting screwdrivers available. The ratcheting mechanism is silky smooth and brutally strong. My oldest one is 40 years old this year, and it still works exactly as well as the one I bought this year. If you want a bit-holder insert, there are many available to 3d print, but I like having the open space in the handle to hold 12 (twelve!) bits even if they rattle around a bit. The 5 included bits are made by Zephyr, and if you need other bits (you will) theirs are the best I've found. This is just a great, great product.

Well, I’ll echo most reviews. It’s a Snap On (literally, Snap On owns Williams and makes these drivers there) for a third of the price. The handle is different from the SO variant, but it’s just as comfortable. The shaft is fixed and doesn’t have knurling, but still has that smooth and incredibly low back drag you expect. Fit and finish is no PB Swiss, but it’s very much a sturdy tool. I like the all plastic handle (rubber dissolves over time) and I like that the magnet is strong. My only gripe is the bit storage. Come on Williams/ Snap On, put a carousel in there! There are 3d printed ones that are just dandy, there’s no excuse now. Bits loosely shaking around in the handle makes me want to remove a star, but the rest of the driver is fabulous and it does its job very well.

This is a very high quality item but there are a few things to consider before you pay the premium price. First order of business is that this Screwdriver seems to be made by the same factory that builds these for another well known brand. The other brand comes with an O Ring that seals the Cap so fluids don’t leak into the storage holder. This may be important to you if you use this around wet environments. The second is the other version has a texture on the metal part for extra control. Lastly the Bits just flop around inside the top and I feel they could have done a better job designing a holder inside the Cap. So that is why 4 Stars. Now the good! This version costs 50 % less but retains 95 percent of the amazing performance of that tool. This is the best ratchet screwdriver I have ever used. It’s absolutely smooth and a pleasure to use!

Good quality ratcheting screwdriver made better with a few additions and tweaks. I have a few ratcheting screwdrivers. My goto is a Klein 13-1 because I really like handle ergos and rubber grip. I have a megapro but rarely use it because its a little bulkier/longer and how the handle tapers wasnt really doing it for me in terms of ergos. Things i like about the williams: love the ergos, fits in my hand nicely. Like the smooth ratcheting mechanism. LOVE that it's the same snap-on tool that's probably made in the same factory, but for half the cost. Love that its easily serviceable by just taking off the lock spring. Things i didnt care for: my model came with a large gap between the collar and the handle. some pics i've seen have it sit flush. some i've seen have a big gap. It's the same with the snap-on models too, so it's not just williams. No big deal tho, still functional. the bit storage is also lacking. there was a bit of back and forth play in the shaft as well. things i did to make it better for me: took the ratcheting mechanism apart, added some more oil and grease so it's REAL smooth and light to rotate (Really love that i can service these). While i had it apart, i 3D printed a black ring to fill the unsightly gap - i know i know - its just a tool and still functional, but my OCD kicked in and figured to just fill it for my personal aesthetics. While i had the mechanism apart, i readjusted the shaft lock washer so there's minimal back and forward play in the shaft. It's pretty tight and rock solid now. Lastly, i 3D printed a bit holder from a remix of John Zanussi's Williams bit holder found on the internetz. These tweaks IMO really complete the screwdriver! I really like it now and find myself fidgeting with it, just randomly taking stuff apart around the house LOL. All in all, great quality screwdriver with a few mods in mind!

Like most, I got caught in the ratcheting driver hype, especially after the LTT videos. Although I have been wanting one for a few years. The LTT one was just too much for a relatively simple tool. This is a very well machined driver at a good price. Extremely smooth ratcheting action with little, yet predictable back-drag. Strong magnet, but not too strong that getting the bit in the fastener head is difficult. Just strong enough to hold any fastener. I have a Felo driver that has way too strong of a magnet, it pulls the driver towards the edge of the fastener and you have to fight with it every time. The hex shank is ground down nice and thin so it can fit in more recessed holes. Some drivers are pretty chunky. The threads on the storage cap are well designed, it threads on easily and has a gasket to keep out moisture and keep bits from rusting. Ergonomics of the handle are good, fits pretty nicely IMO. I don't hate the loose bit storage, it's pretty easy to just dump out, pick what you need, and funnel em back in. They do rattle when ratcheting horizontally, some might find that annoying. My only cons are that the direction selector is a bit stiff and there were some molding lines that needed to be scraped off with my fingernail, but those are very minor issues. Certainly the best multi-driver I've had to date, well worth the $34. Sorry LTT, would have liked to buy yours.

Works fantastic, just not to thrilled by the color

Appears to be exactly the same as my older Snap On SS4DMR ratcheting screwdrivers albeit a few no big deal differences. The earlier style high vis orange and yellow handles have four sides and the Williams three sides both allowing high torque and great comfort. The fine cross hatch knurling close to the ratchet mechanism on the Snap On shaft has been omitted on the Williams, exactly the same tooling finish on the stainless steel shaft. What is noticeable and also very useful the back drag is noticeably lighter on this new driver and a definite plus with semi loose fasteners. Maybe it’s a manufacturing change across the board, my original drivers are now over 25 years old, still working great after many hours of service. The price is a no brainer and conclusion for either a serious DIYER or professional alike you definitely can’t go past what is a high quality USA product.

I bought this screwdriver after looking at Project Farm review (including LTT's new screwdriver) wasn't disappointed and does what I need it to do. Feels really great. Williams and Snap On are from the same parent company and from what I heard, this is made in the same factory as Snap On just for the average consumer which is great for me.

This is an amazing ratcheting screwdriver. I actually asked my Snap-On dealer about it, and he confirmed that it’s essentially a Snap-On tool, just sold under the Williams name. Even the bits included are Snap-On branded, with the Snap-On logo on the side. The handle is very comfortable and provides excellent grip, even during longer jobs. The special Snap-On bits it comes with are top-tier quality — especially the #2 Phillips, which has that extra-grip design. You can really feel the difference compared to standard bits, as it reduces cam-out and holds screws much better. Functionally, this screwdriver feels and performs exactly like the Snap-On version, but at a significantly lower price. I would 100% recommend this over the Snap-On branded one if you want the same quality without paying the premium. The only downsides were small details. Packaging was very minimal — it arrived in a simple zip-lock bag with no box or protective packaging. Also, there was a sticker on the handle that wasn’t fully removed, though this is minor and doesn’t affect use. Other than that, it’s an excellent tool. I even modified mine by adding a 3D-printed bit holder to the back of the handle, which keeps the bits from rattling around — works great. Overall, a high-quality professional tool that performs exactly as it should.

This is arguably one of the best ratcheting screwdrivers on the market. Don't be fooled by the low tooth count or the lack of a fancy bit carousel, the WRS-1 runs silky-smooth and has such low back drag that it's just plain enjoyable to work with. There's a reason why it and the Snap-on hard handle one - which is the same screwdriver with a different handle and knurling on the shaft - keep selling and selling and selling. It's a simple no-fuss ratcheting screwdriver that just works and does so really, really well.
