I have that one and it's a bit dull now but I still love it** A: I have the 16 slicer, and I think it is harder to cut than the 8 slicer. There are twice as many blades, so twice as much resistance. I found it hard to push through on my kitchen counter, but it is easier on the kitchen table, which is lower. I can really get my weight into it! **Q: What is the diameter of the central corer?** A: Oops sorry didn't understand the question. Yes the center circular core/pit remover is exactally one inch in diameter. **Q: Anyone know where the apple slicer is made?** A: China **Q: How do you sharpen the blades? Ours seems to have worn over time.** A: Hi Monica! You might (stress 'might') be able to find a knife sharpener that could work but the product was not designed with sharpening in mind. Unfortunately, the blades were so dull that I needed my upper body to apply weight in cutting an apple. I doubt seniors could use this product. It was fine in cutting halfway through, and then it got harder and harder to slice after reaching the middle section. What’s even more disappointing is how the seller, JADA, hasn’t responded to my message. It’s been six days and counting.
