I saw the price and had to buy, as it was only $22.98 for 12 cans with19 oz. of chili each. This is 10 cents per ounce, you can't beat it. Great taste and consistency, plenty of protein and fiber. I'm sold. Great by itself with crackers or try mixing with some cooked mixed vegetables like chopped up brussel sprouts, spinach or a chopped-up baked potato or try making chili omelettes. There is a lot you can do with chili other than just eat it plain. Granted, Mom's homemade chili is THE BEST, but this is fine as a back-up.

Only one can was dented to speak of. There was no punctured product. As a former canned goods aisle stocker, it's not realistic to expect 12 perfect cans every time in a case of 12. It doesn't happen every time. Cans are typical sized with enough per can for an adult per meal usually I would think. Minor dings without content compromise are acceptable to me. About 10 of 12 were not dented at all. I accept the entire case as safe and edible. They definitely arrived in very reasonable and realistic condition. I don't require absolute perfection concerning cans. Hormel is a good brand of Chili.

Most canned products today tell you "about x number of servings" but usually it's not even close. My wife is type 1 diabetic and has to count carbs, so serving size is critical. She likes chili but her recipes for chili end up kind of a watery soup. If you have this problem where serving size is critical, these Hormel 19 oz cans are perfect for chili lovers. We have never seen this size in grocery stores, but this size makes EXACTLY 2 serving by weight. We have a subscription to this with a case of 12 every 2 month. My wife gets to eat a chili she loves and we always have a supply on hand. Great product in the perfect size.

No risk of the lid to the cumin falling off, and flooding your chili with way too much Irano-Turanian flavor, no chance of messing up the cooking time and having undercooked beans. With Hormel, you are always going to get a quality chili in the best number of steps: 2. Step 1) Open the can ; Step 2) make contents hot. Simple. It makes me wonder why people fuss over making their own chilis at all. Every year I win my friend's chili cookoff by buying one pack of 12 of Hormel Chili with Beans, I put it all into a crock pot, and I sprinkle some chopped spinach on top (green makes it look like you tried). Every year I am crowned chili king. Every Year. It is because Hormel has captured the very essence of chili. If you want to feed me your Russian sixteen bean soup, fine, but know 1) that aint chili, and 2) I will be thinking about Hormel Chili with Beans the entire time I am eating your Russian-wannabe-chili.
