Get the size you need. (go slightly larger)
I have the 1.5L and the .5L containers. The 1.5L is good but a bit big for most of my pickling or making sourkraut and so I purchased the .5L round container. It is okay but leaks quite a bit from the inner seal. This may be because I overloaded it. I really like the 1.5L version and may buy one more of those.
