Best gel pomade ever!!! Used for 10 years +
I’ve been using Imperial Barber Gel Pomade for over 10 years, and nothing else compares. It works wonders on thinner hair, making it feel noticeably fuller while delivering the strongest hold I’ve ever experienced. To top it off, it has a fantastic, clean scent that isn't overpowering at all. Highly recommend! They also have other products with shine if that’s what you’re into

Best Hair Product for Men
THE BEST hair product for men I've ever tried! I've tried so many products it's ridiculous, and this one from Imperial is by far the best I've used for a bunch of reasons. I've finely discovered how important it is to match the hair product to your hair type, not what you "want." So after doing a ton of research on hair types, what products work best for those hair types, and assessing my own hair, I settled on Imperial Classic Pomade and I couldn't be happier! I have very thick, fast growing, wavy hair that has a mind of it's own when it's medium or longer length. So if I want my hair to do what I want, it can't be longer then an inch or two. Not anymore! I want my hair to lay down straight and have a nice clean cut look with a little bit of length, and before this product, that was not possible. Now it is! I just put a little bit of leave in conditioner in my hair to keep it moisturized (which helps it stay down), then rub about a quarter sized dollop of the Imperial Pomade in my hands, and work the product in. I'm able to get that medium length, clean cut look, short on the side look, AND have my hair stay more or less straight, which was IMPOSSIBLE before using this product. I also LOVE how it looks in my hair. When it first goes in, it looks shiny and very slick, but within a short time, the shine fades to a more natural look, and is in between matte and low shine. If you put a ton in, you can keep it looking somewhat shiny, or if you put in less, it looks more matte. It also looks very very natural and like nothing is in your hair, which most products don't. It also smells great (light smell of watermelon), weighs next to nothing in your hair, washes out instantly with water, and can easily be restyled throughout the day by adding a tiny bit of water to your hair and reworking the style. It's without a doubt the greatest hair product for men out there I've ever tried! AND you get a huge 6oz container for only 19.95!!! That's outrageously inexpensive for such a great product compared to all the other rip off priced mens products out there that only have 1.5-3oz's for $25-$40. Can't say enough great things about this amazing product! You'd be hard pressed to find anything better then this, and the value is so good!

My Go-To Pomade for the Last 7 Years
I’ve been using this pomade for about seven years, and I’ve never seriously considered switching to another brand. It has consistently delivered the same great results every time. It provides a strong hold with a natural matte finish that keeps my hair in place without looking greasy or overly styled. One of my favorite things about it is how easily it washes out at the end of the day. Unlike some pomades that leave buildup behind, this one rinses out with very little effort. The scent is another big plus. It’s clean and subtle without being overpowering. I’ve tried other pomades that smelled like an overpowering cologne, but this one has a much more pleasant fragrance. After using it for years, I can confidently say it’s one of the best pomades I’ve found. If you’re looking for a strong hold, matte finish, easy washout, and a clean scent, I highly recommend giving this one a try. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Great Pomade, Just Not for Me
Let me start off by saying I'm not the most experienced person in styling and pomades etc. A few months ago I wanted to try something new, I was bored with my hair (I have straight, brown hair btw). I bought this because I wanted to have a more natural, comb over look. It does succeed in the lack of shine to it (it is shinier though, if your hair is wet), but it's hold is sort of weak, which I wasn't surprised with since it's only a 2 out of 4 strength. I've tried multiple styles, slicked back/comb over mix, weird Pompadour (Like I said, I have no idea what I'm doing), just a normal comb over. And they don't really work with this pomade. Like I said, it's a weaker pomade, so it doesn't hold a whole lot, so a pomp wouldn't work well with this. I can just barely pull off the slicked comb over look. The hair on the side where I had my part, and the whorl on the back of my head stick straight up. Which kinda sucks if you're going for a slick, smooth look. The pomade texture is a very creamy feel, almost like cold butter. Trying to apply to wet hands are impossible, it either slides around on your palm, or stays in one place and doesn't spread, like applying cold butter to toast, so apply with dry hands. It smells very VERY light, it's like a cucumber scent to it. The scent fades away after it dries though, so if you have a cologne or deodorant you want to show off, this'll be practically scent free. There's nothing special about the application process, do it with wet, damp, dry (never really tried dry though) and it should work just fine. It stays for around 3-4 hours before losing hold, which for me, isn't that great. I want mine to AT LEAST last 5 or 6 hours. Overall, good pomade, just not flexible enough to fit my ever changing hair styles.

Hold My Beer, This Matte Paste Actually Lives Up to the Hype!
Let's be real, finding a matte hair product that does what it says can feel like searching for Bigfoot. They promise no shine, then leave your head looking like a disco ball at noon. But Imperial's Matte Pomade Paste? This, my friends, is the real deal. First off, the scent. It's like a clean, woodsy barbershop vibe that's not overpowering. Kinda like walking into a fancy salon that hasn't forgotten its rugged roots. Then there's the finish. Matte? More like matte-rrific. No greasy residue, no suspicious glisten in the sunlight – just pure, textured hold that keeps your style locked down all day. Seriously, I ran errands, hit the gym, even braved a surprise downpour, and my hair still looked on point. Speaking of hold, this paste is like the Goldilocks of grip – not too tight, not too loose, just right. It tames my cowlicks without gluing my strands together, and I can rework it throughout the day without it going floppy. Plus, it adds some serious volume, which is a major win for my fine hair. So, if you're tired of matte pretenders and want a paste that actually delivers, look no further. Imperial's Matte Pomade Paste is the holy grail you've been searching for. Trust me, your hair (and your ego) will thank you.

Good amount for the money. Decent smell. Low hold.
After using this product for 4 months, I can say it does not hold with my hair. The scent is pleasant. It's low shine. It washes out extremely easily. It doesn't leave my hair oily. I've been using the same tub for 4 months and it's only half empty. BUT... It doesn't hold. No matter how little or much, no matter how damp or dry my hair is, the hold is terrible. No better than just water. I got a haircut a few weeks ago and they didn't do great in the back top center. Cut it a little too short (I part on the left). So it sticks up in back. No matter how much of this product I put on it, it will NOT stay put. I used Axe Conditioning Cream before and, honestly, it had better hold. But it's been hard to get lately. I'm also allergic to phenoxyethanol. So products available without it are limited. That's why I tried this one.

Way better than the cheap stuff, and worth it.
I started using pomades with a new haircut a couple years ago, and I started with the cheapest stuff I could get at Walmart--Axe brand. I'm not proud of that decision, but I don't deny it. More recently I discovered that Old Spice makes a pomade, and I started using it. There were pros and cons to both, but neither holds a candle to this stuff. Axe was nice because it was thoroughly water-based and could easily be "revived" in the bathroom with a dab of water on the go, but it rarely held through the day without having to be revived. The biggest concern I had with Axe, other than perpetuating a brand whose advertisements morally offend me, is that the clearish blue pomade appeared to have flecks of glitter in it. Now I never saw glitter in my hair using it, but it they were definitely in the container, and that's a problem. Old Spice is a very different sort of product. It is white and has a better hold, but it can't be revived. It will also leave white streaks if your not careful to work it in well, and worse than that, I always have to shampoo my hair twice (no matter how much shampoo I use) to get it all out in the shower. I appreciate the Old Spice brand, and I like it better than Axe, but I remained unsatisfied. Enter Imperial Barber Products Classic Pomade. It is clear and surprisingly thick. The jar says it can be applied to dry hair, but that seems like it would be a rather unpleasant experience. I use this right after I get out of the shower, with my hair still pretty damp, and it goes on like a charm. You only need a small amount, and I think that will end up saving me money over the long run against the cheap pomades that require more product for the same hold (including the aforementioned Axe and Old Spice). This stuff has a strong hold that lasts all day and takes a lot of punishment. And even if you do find your hair loosing the sharp look at 3:00pm, dabbing it with just a little water and reshaping it is simple and works like a charm. This stuff revives very well, and it is also water-based and really easy to wash out. No more double shampoo. And as an added bonus, it's cool, and retro, and made in the USA. We have a winner.

Keine Gelpomade!

When used sparingly it it has a good re-workable hold when a dash of water is applied
When used sparingly it it has a good re-workable hold when a dash of water is applied. When used in larger amounts it has a kind of gel type effect and hold. It's easy to wash out and is good quality and value for money. I do prefer oil based pomades as I constantly re-work my hair throughout the day, however for when I need a set style this stuff is good. If your style needs a strong firm hold this is what you need.
