My Wife is from New Zealand and she loves this product. She grew up mixing and drinking the powdered milk everyday. Just recently, I purchased this product to mix in our protein shakes and have it for our food storage. Skeptical at first, but after tasting it, she mentioned it was exactly the same product she grew up with as a kid — creamy and rich. Now both of us routinely mix it in our protein shakes instead of using store bought milk brands.

Just got it today
So I ordered this because it already had good reviews. As soon as I got it I had to open it up and taste it. It mixed very easily with just a spoon which surprised me. Some powders are hard to mix in cold water - not this. It does have a taste. I'm very picky about milk in general. Some milk I've gotten (regular in a gallon milk from the store) has had a strange taste to me as well. I used to think that all milk had no flavor. However, in the past few years I've become aware that this is not true. I do not like the milk I drink to have a 'taste' to it or a smell. I just want it to be cold. I don't know why milk would have an odor or taste. But apparently some of it does & not all brands are just plain. Depending on where you live & what company you get your milk from you may have noticed this too. I don't know if this has to do with the breed of cow that is being used - or the food that they eat. Or even the way the milk is homogenized. Maybe a dairy person would know the answer to this. I'd love to know. In this case, there is a noticeable flavor to the milk. To me, it's kind of a sweet and floral flavor. Not bad. Just odd. However, even with that said, I can drink it. It's not so offensive to me that I'd say I'd never be able to drink that. I bought this for an emergency situation anyway. So, it's not like I'd be drinking it every day, all the time under normal circumstances. IMPORTANT: This can makes 2 gallons of milk. Do the math & think about that. If the price is 30 bucks a can then you're paying 15 dollars for 1 gal. on milk. That's right. At this point (March 2020) people are worried about the Covid 19 virus and are stocking up on supplies. So I bought this one can. Once you open it then it's only good for 2 months though So if I'm not going to drink it within that time span, it's kind of a waste - right? Just think about that. Knowing the shelf-life of your powdered milk or whatever you buy is important. Knowing how soon you should use it up AFTER opening is also important. Also, this milk is made from cows that live in New Zealand. However, the milk is then sent to Hong Kong, China for processing. Do you want to order products from China during this time? It's up to each person on what to do about that. At the time I ordered this I did not have that information - but it is on the can. As far as I'm concerned I think I'd rather have my dry powdered milk from America if at all possible. I did wash the can off prior to opening it up. And that's probably all you need to do. I'm not sure what the process is to dehydrate the liquid milk - but it may be done using heat anyway - which would kill germs. If there were germs. I only mention this for people who care about where the milk comes from and where the end product comes from. If you think about it - every country - including America, that has Corona virus cases will be scrutinized. It's just how it is now. Hopefully one day it will all be over. But It's good to be prepared....for anything.

Better than most
Just re-ordered this brand — pricey but worth it if you prefer minimal under-taste to your dry milk powder. I don’t use it often, but we do run out of milk now and then at our house, so it is comes handy. For this reason, it lasts us a long time and I consider it economical despite the price tag. Kids say it doesn’t taste quite like fresh milk, but it is close! Nice, creamy, no funky flavors, dissolves like a dream with no clumps in hot or cold water. Sometimes I use it as a coffee creamer. It is nice, buy it if in doubt! Tastes great compared to domestic brands.
