Eagle's voice as an author mirrors his conversational and educational approach; he is exceptionally adept at synthesizing an expanse of research and theory without taking liberties in either psychoanalysis or attachment. Given the vast body of literature in both fields, one should not expect a comprehensive or expansive view of either, but rather a thoughtful consideration of points of convergence and divergence between attachment and psychoanalysis. This is an excellent and informative read.
