We got tired of getting into the shower just to discover there was no hot water. Every time we would have to reset the hot water heater because of a faulty gas valve. The cost of a new hot water heater is outragous and the cost of a replacement gas valve seemed too high but we simply got tired of resetting the eletronic gas valve. So far the new valve has worked flawlessly but time will tell. The valve was the least expensive through Amazon.

This part prematurely failed on my 6yr old hot water heater. My plumber friend priced it out at our local plumbing supply house and found it CHEAPER on Amazon versus his commercial account. Perfect fit took about 20 mins to replace with the help of a professional plumber friend although I could have done it myself. The part seemed to have been updated compared to the original one(new wiring harness) Hopefully this one lasts longer than the original.

Worked as it should. Comes with an extra short harness in the box for no reason. Expensive.

My water heater failed while on travel and the plumber wanted $600 for this part procured through his supplier. I ordered it hear and asked if he'd like to install it.

I was really happy with it for a short while.The water heater started acting up again (as before), and in the last few days just turns on the power vent and then shuts down. The error code on the light isn't even listed on the list of codes! Not sure how the original control unit lasted so long, and this NEW one of the same brand just died.Anyway, I guess I should have bought the home protection plan. $355 life lesson.
