It works!!! Buy this!!
Okay, I will admit I bought this cleaner CD as a last ditch effort to save my 1997 audiobox five cd changer. I had little to no hope that it would work but after reading some promising reviews, I decided what the heck I may as well give it a shot, it isn't very expensive and the worst thing that happens is it doesn't work. I must have tried to run the cd through at least ten fifteen times between track 1 one 2 and it didn't seem like it was doing anything. I skipped it to my music cd, and it sounded like it was going to fly right out of my cd changer it was vibrating the whole unit so bad, which I thought was odd because it did not do that before. So I thought, okay, well, the cleaner must be doing "something"! I followed another reviewer's advice and let track two run for a bit. I actually forgot about it after I went downstairs and to my shock and delight when I came back to it, when I skipped to one of my music cds, it started playing! I about cried! Buy the dang CD... IT WORKS!!!

Maybe helps?
The cd player that had issues couldnโt read โtrack 3โ on this so it never got cleaned all the way and still has issues. I used it on another cd player which played through the tracks no problem but because that cd player worked fine to begin with itโs hard to say if there was any improvement. Iโd say if you have issues and think it may be the lense, itโs worth a try but other than that, not sure.

Unbelievable - but it actually works.
It worked. It brought a very old Bose Wave (circa 2007) Radio/CD player back from the edge of the trash bin. Follow the printed directions. (Surprising how often this helps.) Slide the cd with the label up, shiny side down, like any other CD into the front-loading slot. The Bose dutifully inhaled the CD as usual. It then began to hiccup and stutter through the audio instructions as expected. After advancing to Track 3, waited 30 seconds, advanced to track 4 and heard some unexpectedly continuous music. Next put in a favorite commercial CD and like magic our old favorites filled the room, without a glitch. Then for the ultimate test tried a homemade CD and listened to it start to finish. Again like new. I was skeptical to say the least, but for the price I figured what the heck. Some reviews suggested that a front-loader/slot drive like the Bose would destroy the little brushes. Others said no. Based on the reviews, I could not visualize what it would look like or how it might work. See the picture. There really are 2 sets of little brushes attached to an otherwise ordinary audio CD. Audio CD playback starts at the center; spinning at 500 rpm and slows to 200 RPM at the outer edge. So in just a minute each of the brushes pass the lens ~250 times, or ~500 little brushes. That's all it took. Unbelievable, this little gadget resurrected a $400 half dead relic , much to my amazement. Sure beats buying even a cheap replacement.

Used with my Bose Wave CD Player -REVIEW REVISED
REVIEW REVISED: After posting a 5-star review saying that this product worked wonders on my stuttering/skipping Boss Wave CD player, I discovered that the fix was only temporary. The next time I used the CD player, it was skipping again. I used the cleaner disc again, and it seemed to work, but the next CD didn't play. There must be something else wrong with my unit so I can't fairly rate this product. I had to give it 3 stars in order to revise my post.

Maxell's exercise in confusion - including compatibility.
For MODEL#: CD-340, ITEM#: 190048 The description here (and on the sites of some other major retailers) reads: "Compatible with CD players and CD-ROM drives. Not for laptops and Blu-ray." When I received this, the back of the package reads: "For use with CD/DVD players, laptops, and standard gaming systems." Maxell's own online store and some other retailers also state this. An e-mail to Maxell support questioning this discrepancy received a prompt response that said in part "It is NOT safe for use in LAPTOP computer optical disc drives or with Blu-Ray drives (Blu-Ray drives use a laser lens that sits much closer to the disc, so do most laptop cd or dvd drives.)" Not helping is at least four different incarnations of packaging for the same model and item#. (The package I received from Amazon does not have the MAXLINK PRO heading shown in the image here.) Anyway, completely throwing caution to the wind, I put this into my desktop drive. The seemingly pointless voice "instructions" say "Please select track three and press play when the music stops" When you go to track three you are immediately told: "The cleaning is now complete" You're then treated to a couple of more minutes of music - because that's why you bought this, right? I went back to track two which runs for 46 minutes so I'm guessing that's the cleaning track. CD-340 didn't correct the problem I'm having with my desktop drive but that doesn't mean it didn't clean the lens. I would feel more confident of that if I at least felt certain it's meant to clean a desktop drive. Who knows?

Fixed Scratching of DVD's
We recently bought a 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan and it was scratching the discs and not playing them. I bought this *in hopes* that it would work. It absolutely worked and my 9 yr old is so excited because she can now watch her DVD's on road trips! We take several short road trips throughout the year and typically 2 longer vacations. Super easy to use, didn't take very long, and now we have use of our DVD player again!
