My 8 month old got the cord wrapped around his neck in a split second. It's short, so it's easy to untangle, but to be safe, I removed the string. Now he tries shoving the mallet as far as he can down his throat. So, he'll play without the mallet until he outgrows his urge to gag himself on toys I guess. The string seems like it can be replaced by removing the base of the toy where it is screwed together and running a new string through the hole for the mallet. It sounds very nice, not too loud, and not wonky or out of tune. The fox bobbles up and down on the wheels so it has a comical effect in it's roll. Seems easy enough to clean or disassemble if need be.

My one year old grandson loves music. I bought this item so he can play it and also pull it, as it’s on wheels!!! He loves it !

My 15mo loves this toy. I showed him once how to play and now he bangs on it like crazy. It does get a little taking used to for them to understand the limitations of having the string attached to it, but it’s better than they losing it. Plus it can be used to pull and it kind of wobbles up and down as it rolls and is super cute.I was on the fence about a xylophone for my toddler, but he’s so proud of himself after using this... I’m so glad I got it.

This little xylophone is perfect for a young baby. The base is heavy plastic and the stick is also plastic. The stick is on a short string which we cut so the baby can play each key. My 9 mont/h old grandson likes it. It has a softer sound when the keys are struck.

This very colorful and very well made. The child can also pull it around with the little heavy duty plastic string.
