Will this work? Do the speakers need to be similar Ohm wise?** A: It will work for what you want to do. The unit is better suited for 8 ohms speakers. Currently I'm using 4 ohms but not a great idea. If you drive the power too much you will blow the mono price. I also think that it's better suited for using 1 amp and two set of speakers. **Q: Will this do A+B Speaker playback simultaneously?** A: Yes it does. We use it to play music simultaneously indoors and outdoors when entertaining. It's a great little setup. **Q: Has anyone used larger than 14AWG wire in the ports, would like to use larger wire for a very long run.** A: 14 gauge is tight but will work. You need to be very careful stripping the wire so you do not get stray strands while inserting. Another option is to use a short pigtail of 16 gauge and transition to 14 gauge. Impedance loss is linear so a few inches of 16 gauge will have no impact on losses **Q: Do I need an amp to power this or can I just hook it up from a receiver?** A: Either an amp or a receiver will be sufficient. Normal speaker output is all that is necessary to power one or two pairs of speakers.
