For many years, I used Frontline, but now these spawn of Satan laugh at those drops. It doesn’t cut down on their biting or reproduction at all. I’ve also tried Advantage; it worked, but a few of my cats had a reaction to it that made me uncomfortable. I want to kill the fleas, not my cats. My flea killer of choice to use on my cats during flea season is now Catego. Catego did the trick. My cats are once again flea free, and none of them had a bad reaction to it. According to the directions on the box, I am not applying it exactly the right way, so fleas must loathe this stuff. Each dose is enclosed in plastic packaging that you must cut the corners off of with scissors. Then you must peel the plastic back to get the dose out. Sounds easy, right? But when they know—and somehow they do—that it is time for their flea treatment, they watch every move you make. When you reach for them or walk toward them, even if your hands are empty, they dash away and hide. If they only realized how much more comfortable Catego makes them. That one day a month, it is time to take them by surprise. I don’t know. Maybe it is a game to them. But when a cat is hissing at me and doing its damnedest to get away, it doesn’t feel much like a game. So, am I able to part their hair and reveal the skin before applying? Only two out of my eight cats will stand still and allow me to do that. Do I manage to put Catego on all of them? Yes, but they do not like it. The tip of the applicator is rounded with no sharp edges, so I don’t understand why they run. Now, if I manage to hide the dose behind my back and apply it while I’m petting them, they don’t even notice. I’ve managed to do that a few times. Sometimes though, the unexpected happens. You know that sound that a container makes as you squeeze the last of its contents out? Use your imagination for what happens then. If you are having trouble finding a flea treatment that actually does what it says it will do, might I suggest giving Catego a try?
Review: Flea & Tick protection with no skin reactions. - I have used other topicals and collars but one of my cats would always react to anything for fleas AND ticks. This is the only brand I use now because it prevent both parasits and my Twinkles doesn't react to it. My cats go outside sometimes in bushes and dirt and grass and I haven't had a problem with fleas or ticks since using.

**Q: Does anyone have experience on how this product works on ticks?**
A: Best product I've found for ticks. With other products they prevent ticks from hitting the cat. But not from hitching a ride into your home and biting you. This it kills the ticks without biting

**Q: what is the reaction of cats to this? My cat is 3yrs old but weight only 6 lbs.**
A: My cat show no initial reaction other than anger. He didn't like being held in the suggested position. About four hours later, he acted sick at his stomach for about 15 minutes. I watched him closely. He never threw up. He did experience about ten minutes of salivating heavily. I was still watching him closely. When about 25 minutes had past, he acted like he felt better. He came for loving, drank some water and insisted I go to bed so he could too. He sleeps on me. I will watch him very closely next month when it will be time for a 2nd treatment.
Oh. The fleas were much better. We have a dog that seems to bring in fleas every time she goes out in spite of her flea meds. We will switch her meds.
So. Watch for several hours. Monitor closely any unusual reactions. If her responses are extreme, take her to a vet.

**Q: At what weight does dose lose it' effecacy? My biggest cat is 19 lbs.**
A: Catego is recommended for all cats over the weight of 1.5 pounds. It does not lose efficacy as the weight of the cat increases!

**Q: The label says it's quick-drying - how long does it take to dry? Is it faster than other flea products you've used?**
A: HI Serena,The product is being absorbed into the skin, that's how it protects your kitty for a month.If you're referring to the residue that absorbs into the hair, it is much more minimal due to the applicator.It really does help target just the skin.Regarding actual time for hair to "dry", well it's less greasy than Advantage 2 but, I'd say drying time still takes about 8-10 hours for oily hair to fade away. Flea meds are so expensive these days! I can’t afford to keep flea meds on my cats in the winter months. I make sure I put Catego on them at the first sign of fleas in the spring. It’s never been a problem. This product has always worked well for me even though fleas can get out of control QUICKLY here for some reason. One dose on all of my cats knocks them out immediately. I have one cat who has severe flea allergy and this always works on her. Just make sure to treat all animals at once and wash any bedding they use.
