I'm wondering if its TSA approved** A: I had no trouble with it flying from New Hampshire to DC. **Q: Do you have to wear a sock under it?** A: A sock is not necessary to wear under wrap. Heat or cold applied directly to bruised area. I used it for broken ankle. Placed cold wrap on ankle and then wrapped towel around foot for 20 min. Cold affect felt directly to effected area. **Q: Does this cover both right and left sides and the back of the ankle?** A: Yes, it did for me. My ankle and foot was really swollen, but it worked great! **Q: How long does it stay cold?** A: I have never actually timed it but it stays cold for more than an hour. I would put it on my ankle around 8pm, watch tv, and take it off around 10pm and it was still quite cold. Of course after that long, my ankle is used to it but touching it with my hands to take it off, my hands can feel how cold it still is. The velcro works great I can strap them on and still move around if needed or just prop up my feet. They are very comfortable to use and easy to use. I have had no leakage issues and hope not too in the future. I have used them quite a bit so I don't believe I will have any issues with that. The design is great and I wish they had come up with this sooner and the size fits perfectly for many because my son has used them as well and our the sizes between us are significantly different. With the adjustable velcro straps though they work for both of us. I have also used them on my elbows while my elbow was bent due to cubital tunnel pain and it worked for that as well. I like them so much a bought a 2nd pair to wrap around the bottom of my foot too. I keep them stored in the freezer. I’ve found that’s the way I prefer. The ice packs stay cold for about 20 min which is perfect because that’s the length of time I need. It works out perfectly. I don't have any trouble walking around when the packs are around my ankle. They are comfortable and stay in place.
