The latch was wearing out and I was concerned about a dog breakout. I got the “aluminum” finish which I thought would be metal with clear coat but instead is a aluminum colored paint. Installation was easy as all the holes lined up with my old handle. The latch plate didn’t fit using the holes from the old plate - the new latch needed the plate to be closer to the door than the previous one. Not a problem with the product, just my door situation.
