Keeps the bigger birds out.

The outer cage stops the starling free for all. They can reach the fat balls but it slows them down. Our previous feeder had large holes and the starlings could strip it in a day. This allows them to peck at the edge but not strip it.We don't have squirrels.

This feeder is as it says it is. Its well made holds 5 fat balls. I purchased it to stop magpies from taking all the food, and it works well. They still try, but can't get at the balls thus the tity birds can get them. Good value for money.

Discourages the Jackdaw but the starlings can still get to the food, and they're the main reason I bought it because of the noise. They're driving us mad from dawn onwards at the moment.

It’s managed to deter the squirrels but even small birds have given up with it. The blue tits were the only ones who could squeeze through the cage and eat the fat balls but the sparrows couldn’t be bothered. In the end, very determined and acrobatic magpies have eaten all the fat balls. A disappointing design.

For the price I would have expected a better quality product. It will have to do but can't recommend it. The lid on the top does clip so it can be lifted easily whereas my older feeders had good tops that clicked so they couldn't come off easily.

Good item for smaller birds , just the Starlings can get to the balls
