A Dog's Tale
My husband and I have a soft spot for hounds, especially older dogs and we always adopt rescues. We know we don't get to keep them as long as we would if we got a puppy, but we just feel our work is to give these older often overlooked dogs a comfortable final chapter, filled with lots of love. I have made dog food for our dogs for the past several years, although I supplement with Dr. Gary's Best Breed dry dog food because there are some trace ingredients that I cannot source economically. Dr. Gary's was recommended to me by a woman who shows coonhounds in working classes and is as picky as I am about her dog's diet. Four years ago we rescued a seven year old black and tan coonhound who was abandoned by a breeder when she was no longer of use. Her name is Juniper; she is a sweet little girl who was afraid of everything and is now living a happy life as a family pet, playing and treeing squirrels in our backyard and coming inside for naps and pats whenever she wants. She has an 8 year old "brother", a red tick coonhound/pit mix we rescued two years ago. Juniper was recently diagnosed with kidney disease and my vet prescribed Hill's kidney diet in the can. I am feeding half Hill's and half my own food (my choice and he was fine with it). I always make a lean beef or chicken based food, however, chicken is a better choice for Juniper due to the lower fat content. One of the problems for dogs with renal disease is that digesting dry food can put a strain on their kidneys. So, I decided to grind my chicken based food with some dry kibble, adding chicken broth for moisture. I have a food processor that would do the job but it's a pain to clean. I also have a Vitamix that would certainly do the job but I could also easily wind up with dog food paste. So, I started looking for a food grinder and came across the Syvio. I read all the reviews and decided to give it a try. For the price, even if it was a dud, it wouldn't break the bank. I LOVE this machine. It was very easy to assemble and it ground up my cooked chicken, vegetables and kibble quickly and QUIETLY (compared to a food processor or blender). For those reviewers that said it could not chop meat, check out my picture. It had no problem chopping chicken breasts that I just broke up into chunks to fit in the bowl. (I normally would feed the food in chunks.) It also ground the veggies into tiny pieces and incorporated them so that my red tick will not be able to avoid the green beans. I wound up with food the consistency of deli ham salad, which is perfect...and in less than a minute. I will probably use this instead of my food processor from now on for pimento cheese or other party spreads (and ham salad). The blades are very sharp so make sure you retain the blade guards and put them back on the blades when not using the grinder. I could not be happier with this little grinder.

Product review
I love how this product is so easy to use. It is not loud and noisy like other appliances I have used. Easy to clean and store in the cabinets.

versatile chopper with great power
I've been using the food processor for a few weeks, and overall, it's an excellent addition to my kitchen. It handles everything from baby food to meat and onions effortlessly. The set includes both an 8-cup glass bowl and an stainless steel bowl- perfect for separating baby food prep from heavier chopping tasks.

From Hero (older model) to Zero
Two-Year (latest) UPDATE:What a way to RUIN a product! This went from THE very BEST model of food processor - EVER - to ... useless!I ordered a new one because my old one really, really worked overtime and hard for close to two years - and on just one bowl and one set of blades! Anyway, the new one I received was a terrible model! It did NOT mince food no matter how little or much you used in the bowls, AND, the buttons at the top would go off at any time ... except when you pushed them down to use them! It was beyond awkward. It was dangerous.I complained, and asked where the ORIGINAL, FANTASTIC model had gone, and the seller exchanged the new BAD one with an older model. Sadly, the top blade on the bigger blade set on that one, would not "connect" with the bottom blade and stay connected. As such, the only blade that turned was the bottom blade, so there was no food processing to be had. Oh, and apart from the small set not being very effective either, the small screw came off the small metal bowl a couple of times and finally was just lost.I can't begin to tell you how confused I am that having such a WINNING product, anyone would try and change it, only to make it so much WORSE. I understand that many companies simply buy mass-produced items and slap their brand on them, but in any case, I assume they test them out first, right? Not these.Yesterday, the entire set went into the trash as I could not see donating this only to give someone else a headache.--------------------------------------Original Review and Earlier Update:Having spent the last couple of years manually shredding or dicing chicken breasts and fruit into tiny portions to mix in with our dog's dry and wet food, the thought of buying a food processor finally popped into my head. Why it took so long, I have no idea, except maybe for the fact that I had never owned one before and that I remembered my granny having this huge, awkward, yellow thing that took a day to assemble and another day to clean. Still, spending as much time and effort on our dog's food - no matter how much we love them, wasn't 'cutting' it.After my lightbulb moment - lol - I then spent WEEKS looking for an 8-cup, "brand-name" model, made by a well-known company ... at a particular dollar figure which I did not want to go over.Well, what I was looking for, does not exist.😅What finally pushed me toward this little baby, were the two bowls, but I still had some doubts regarding whether it was good enough to try. After all, "Who or what is this 'Syvio'?", I asked myself. The overall positive reviews were the final deciding factor. ... Yes, I know that sounds dramatic for just a simple countertop food processor, but I hate the hassle of returning things - and I hate a bad deal even more.Upon receipt, doubts were quelled. It arrived well-packaged and the entire unit seems to be of great quality. The glass bowl is heavy and the stainless steel bowl is lightweight but well made. The four sets of blades (a SET of two, or FOUR blades for each bowl), were very sharp! What REALLY matters though - and the point which you want to hear, I am sure, if you're still with me ... is that the chopping it does ... is out of this world!!! The more you hold either of the speeds of 'chop' at the top of the unit, the more it dices and the tinier your food gets. All uniformly and easily. I LOVE IT ❣️❣️❣️We use ours every day and have done so since receiving it way over three months ago. All I can say is that I hope that it lasts for a while at least (I will update my review accordingly), and that I could KICK myself for not having bought one of these long before now! Did I mention that I love it?EDIT: One important thing to note and perhaps consider, is that as of yet, there are no replacement parts. I know this because sadly, I broke our big bowl. (My fault, totally). Also, be sure to wash and DRY the blades immediately after use. Just like knives, this will help keep them sharp.--------------------------------------------------------UPDATE:SOOOO, it has been a YEAR since I bought this, and when I bought it, it came with a big glass bowl (12 cups, I think) and the small steel one, and two different sets of blades (one set for each bowl). Not soon after having it, I broke the big bowl. There went one set of blades too, since the bigger bowl blades would not fit the smaller bowl. Why am I telling you this? I'm getting to it! 😋 😁. I have been using ONLY the small bowl with the smaller set of blades TWICE a day, EVERY DAY since I bought it ... and it's STILL going strong. This thing is a winner. Don't hesitate.
